Phillip Tinney (born 15 January 1945) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a winger.
Tinney was from Dundee, and attended St Stephen's and St John's schools in the city. [2]
Tinney spent his early career with Liverpool and Dundee. [2] [3] He made one first-team appearance for Dundee, in the Summer Cup, where he scored a goal. [4] He then played for Dutch club Heracles, [5] becoming the first British player to score in the Eredivisie. [3] After leaving Heracles in January 1966, [6] he was subject to a five-year FIFA ban for breaking his contract. [3] [4] He subsequently played in the United States for the Philadelphia Spartans and the Dallas Tornado. [1] [4] His career was ended by a broken leg whilst playing for Wigan Athletic. [3] After retiring as a player he worked in residential childcare in Merseyside. [3]
Dundee Football Club is a professional football club based in the city of Dundee, Scotland, founded in 1893. The team are nicknamed "The Dark Blues" or "The Dee". The club plays its home matches at Dens Park.
James Craig Brown was a Scottish professional football player and manager. After his playing career with Rangers, Dundee and Falkirk was curtailed by a series of knee injuries, Brown entered management with Clyde in 1977. He then coached various Scotland youth teams until he was appointed Scotland manager in 1993. He held this position until 2001, the longest tenure for a Scotland manager, and they qualified for the UEFA Euro 1996 and 1998 FIFA World Cup tournaments. He later managed Preston North End, Motherwell and Aberdeen. He retired from management in 2013 and was appointed a non-executive director of Aberdeen.
John "Ian" St John was a Scottish professional football player, coach and broadcaster. St John played as a forward for Liverpool throughout most of the 1960s. Signed by Bill Shankly in 1961, St John was a key member of the Liverpool team that emerged from the second tier of English football to win two league titles and one FA Cup—in which he scored the winner in the 1965 final—to cement a position as one of the country's top sides. He played for Scotland 21 times, scoring nine goals.
Peter Patrick Lorimer was a Scottish professional footballer, best known for his time with Leeds United and Scotland during the late 1960s and early 1970s. An attacking midfielder and the club's youngest-ever player, he was renowned for his powerful strikes from distance. From 1984 to 1985 he was club captain. Lorimer is the club record scorer with 238 goals in all competitions. He was voted Leeds' ninth greatest player ever and on to the greatest Leeds United team of all time.

Charles Patrick Mulgrew is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Scottish Premiership side Dundee United.
Ian Petrie Redford was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a midfielder or forward. He played for Dundee before joining Rangers for a then Scottish record transfer fee. At Rangers he won in three domestic cup finals. He then joined Dundee United where he scored in the 1987 UEFA Cup semi final win against Borussia Mönchengladbach. He then played for Ipswich Town, St Johnstone and Brechin City before wrapping up his career with two winners medals at Raith Rovers.
David Wilson was a Scottish international footballer who played as an outside left. He was perhaps best known for his decade at Rangers in which he played an important role in the club's success of the early 1960s; he also made over 100 appearances for Dundee United.
