Pickering's Gin

Pickering's Gin is a London Dry style gin that is entirely produced in Edinburgh city centre at the Summerhall Distillery, near the Meadows. [1] Established in 2013 and launched in 2014, the gin is part of the booming market in artisan gins up and down the UK. [2]

The gin is based on an old Indian recipe that is on display in the distillery, dated 1947 [3] [4] and written in Bombay. The gin has 9 ingredients, or botanicals, including, juniper, coriander, cardamom, fennel, anise, angelica, lemon peel, lime peel and cloves. [5]

The 2013–14 season was the 117th season of competitive football by Heart of Midlothian, and their 31st consecutive season in the top level of Scottish football, in the newly established Scottish Premiership, which replaced the Scottish Premier League. Amrut Distilleries

Amrut Distilleries Ltd is an Indian company that produces distilled beverages. It is best known for its eponymous Amrut brand of single malt whisky, which is the first single malt whisky to be made in India. The brand became famous after world famous whisky connoisseur Jim Murray gave it a rating of 82 out of 100 in 2005 and 2010. In 2010, Murray named Amrut Fusion single malt whisky as the third best in the world. John Hansell, editor of American magazine Whisky Advocate, wrote that "India's Amrut distillery changed the way many think of Indian whisky - that it was, in the past, just cheap Scotch whisky blended with who knows what and sold as Indian whisky. Amrut is making whisky, and it's very good".

Gordon Aikman

Gordon Lewis Aikman BEM was a British political researcher and campaigner. He was Director of Research for the Better Together campaign during the Scottish Independence Referendum. During that campaign he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease. Aikman successfully lobbied the Scottish Government to double the number of MND nurses in Scotland, and to fund them via the NHS. He also raised more than £500,000 for medical research.

The 2015–16 season is the 119th season of competitive football by Heart of Midlothian. It is the club's first season of play back in the top tier of Scottish football since 2014, having been promoted from the Scottish Championship at the end of the previous season, having played just one season in the Scottish Championship. The club had been relegated from the Premiership at the end of the 2013–14 season. In the League Cup, Hearts reached the quarter-final and were eliminated by Celtic.
