Rajnigandha (transl. Tuberose) is a 1974 Hindi film directed by Basu Chatterjee. It is based on the short story "Yahi Sach Hai" by noted Hindi writer Mannu Bhandari. The movie starred Amol Palekar, Vidya Sinha and Dinesh Thakur in the lead.
Kabita is a 1977 Indian Bengali-language film directed by Bharat Shumsher, starring Mala Sinha in the lead role. The film is a remake of the Tamil classic film Aval Oru Thodar Kathai (1974) where Kamal Haasan had a supporting role as a neighbor. He played the same role in the Bengali remake, thus his only foray into Bengali film industry. He also acted in the Telugu remake Anthuleni Katha (1976) with Jaya Prada, playing a different role as her boss and suitor. He also did a guest role in another remake, the Kannada film Benkiyalli Aralida Hoovu (1983) with his real-life niece Suhasini playing the lead role. The only remake he didn't appear in is the Hindi film Jeevan Dhaara (1982) starring Rekha.
Gorosthaney Sabdhan is a 2010 thriller film directed by Sandip Ray based on the novel of the same name by Satyajit Ray. The film was released on 10 December 2010. It is different from most other Feluda stories, in the sense that this story is based on Feluda's hometown Kolkata (Calcutta). Most of Feluda's adventures take place as he and his company go to visit some place in India or outside. Here, however, Calcutta itself is the setting. Double Feluda is a 2016 Bengali language crime thriller detective film, based on the Bengali sleuth Feluda, created by the acclaimed and renowned Oscar-winning director Satyajit Ray. He was also a recipient of the Rabindra Puraskar and several other awards. He won the Rabindranath Tagore Memorial International Prize in its inaugural year. Many of his works have been adapted into films, including the multiple-award-winning Kharij, directed by Mrinal Sen, and Ek Doctor Ki Maut, directed by Tapan Sinha. Chowdhury started writing during the Second World War. He was associated with Anandabazar Patrika for many years, and edited its Sunday supplement. His novels are marked by an economy of expression. He is one of the most well known short story writers in contemporary Bengali literature.
