The Pictou County Wellness Centre is a multi-purpose sporting facility located in Westville Road, Nova Scotia. The facility features 2 NHL sized hockey arenas, an olympic sized swimming pool, a fitness centre and, a gymnasium. The facility opened on December 6, 2012. The opening day featured a MHL game between the Pictou County Crushers and the Bridgewater Lumberjacks.
There are two arenas in the Pictou County Wellness Centre, one being the main arena called the Sobeys Arena, and the other, an auxiliary arena named, the Bell Aliant arena. The Pictou County YMCA calls the Pictou County Wellness Centre home as they are the owners of the pool, gymnasium and, fitness centre.
In May 2013 it was announced that the John Brother MacDonald Stadium would be coming to a close to help with the opening year deficit from the Wellness Centre of $445,500 and put the usage of the arenas from 42% to 74%.

Three hockey teams play in the Pictou County Wellness Centre. The teams are, the Pictou County Crushers of the Maritime Junior Hockey League, the Weeks Major Midgets and the Wearwell Bantam Bombers (formerly Scotsburn Major Bantam Crushers). The rinks also hosts the Bantam Memorial hockey tournament annually.

Northumberland Regional High School (NRHS) is a Canadian public high school located in Alma, Nova Scotia. Students that attend the school come from the western part of Pictou County, including the towns of Stellarton, and Westville. The school is administratively part of the "Celtic Region" in the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board. Its official colours are red, white and black and the mascot is a Nighthawk nicknamed "Squawk". The sports teams from NRHS are called the Northumberland Nighthawks.
Alumni Gymnasium, now known as Alumni Gym Fitness Center, is a building on the University of Kentucky (UK) campus in Lexington, Kentucky. It is located on the corner of South Limestone Street and Avenue of Champions next to the University of Kentucky Student Center. When it opened in 1924, replacing Alumni Hall, it was a 2,800 seat multi-purpose arena, serving as home to the UK Wildcats basketball team. It was replaced when the Memorial Coliseum opened in 1950. The building later became a student recreation facility, and was frequently used for recreational and intramural basketball. During this period, it was also home to the University of Kentucky Men's Club Basketball team, University of Kentucky Club Dodgeball team, and the UK Men's Club Volleyball team. The interior of the facility was gutted in 2017 as part of a project to renovate the university's student center, and the building reopened in 2018 as a student fitness center.

The swimming portion consists of a 25 metre competition pool, pleasure pool, a water slide, a water mushroom, a hot tub, steam room, and sauna. There is also a conference centre over 4,000 square feet (370 m2) in size, and Iron Haven Gym, with two squash courts and weight lifting equipment. The second portion, the Arenas, were designed to replace Cahill Stadium and Steele Arena.

The LEC debuted in April 2009, hosting the 2009 BC Gymnastics Championships. It boasts an arena bowl with a 5,276 capacity for sports, including 24 individual suites. The Daniel L. Ritchie Center is the home of athletics for the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado, United States. There are 17 athletic programs for the Denver Pioneers which run out of the Ritchie Center. The 440,000 square feet (41,000 m2) building cost $84 million to construct. Each of the 17 athletic programs have offices located on the fourth floor, along with the Gottesfeld room, which hosts a great deal of dinners and meetings.
