Pierre Michel Auger (born January 11,1963) is a Canadian politician,who was a Member of the National Assembly for the electoral district of Champlain from 2007 to 2008 and again since 2014.
Born in Shawinigan,Quebec,Auger holds a bachelor's degree from the Universitédu Québec àTrois-Rivières in business administration and did additional courses in a master's degree program in applied sciences and industrial safety and health. Prior to his election,Auger taught at Collège Laflèche in Trois-Rivières,and was also a coordinator at the same college in tourism and hotel management. [1] He was also the owner of a local snow removal company,a hockey coach for several local clubs in several divisions and a member of the Association des restaurateurs du Québec and the Association des hôteliers du Québec.
Running for the Action démocratique du Québec,he was first elected to the National Assembly in the 2007 general election with 45% of the vote. Parti Québécois incumbent Noëlla Champagne finished second with 31% of the vote.
On October 23,2008,he and fellow ADQ MNA AndréRiedl crossed the floor to sit as members of the caucus of the governing Liberal Party. [2]
In the 2008 general election,Auger lost re-election against PQ candidate Noëlla Champagne,following which the Liberal government appointed Auger as commissioner and vice-president of the Régie du bâtiment du Québec.
Auger was elected again to the National Assembly in the 2014 general election.

The Action démocratique du Québec, commonly referred to as the ADQ, was a right-wing populist and conservative provincial political party in Quebec, Canada. On the sovereignty question, it defined itself as autonomist; it had support from nationalists and federalists. Its members were referred to as adéquistes, a name derived from the French pronunciation of the initials 'ADQ'.

The 2007 Quebec general election was held in the Canadian province of Quebec on March 26, 2007 to elect members of the 38th National Assembly of Quebec. The Quebec Liberal Party led by Premier Jean Charest managed to win a plurality of seats, but were reduced to a minority government, Quebec's first in 129 years, since the 1878 general election. The Action démocratique du Québec, in a major breakthrough, became the official opposition. The Parti Québécois was relegated to third-party status for the first time since the 1973 election. The Liberals won their lowest share of the popular vote since Confederation, and the PQ with their 28.35% of the votes cast won their lowest share since 1973 and their second lowest ever. Each of the three major parties won nearly one-third of the popular vote, the closest three-way split in Quebec electoral history until the 2012 election. This was however, the closest three-way race in terms of seat count. Voter turnout among those eligible was 71.23%, a marginal difference from the previous general election in 2003.
Amable Berthelot was a Canadien lawyer, author and political figure. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada and later to the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada. Trained as a lawyer, he was an avid book-collector, at one point having a personal library of some fifteen hundred volumes. Champlain is a provincial electoral riding in the Mauricie region of Quebec, Canada, which elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the eastern portions of the city of Trois-Rivières as well as Saint-Tite, Saint-Maurice and Sainte-Thècle. Its boundaries have remained the same since the 1973 election.
