Pinocchio: Unstrung is an upcoming British independent slasher film directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, written by Matt Leslie, and produced by Frake-Waterfield and Scott Jeffrey. It is the fifth installment in The Twisted Childhood Universe (TCU) and serves as a horror parody of Carlo Collodi's The Adventures of Pinocchio .

Premise

Geppetto introduces his grandson, James, to a magical doll called Pinocchio, who develops a friendship. However, unaware of Pinocchio's naïve nature, James introduces him to the world, resulting in the doll going on a crusade to eliminate all things “bad”. [1]

In January 2024, it was announced that a horror film centered around the titular character from The Adventures of Pinocchio was in development, while it was also revealed that additional characters from other childhood stories would be revealed as a part of The Twisted Childhood Universe (TCU). Officially titled Pinocchio: Unstrung, the first promotional concept art was released, with the plot stated to be revealed at a later time. [3] [4] The film was directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield. [5] In November 2024, Robert Englund was cast in a lead role, while Richard Brake was cast as Geppetto. Cameron Bell, Jessica Balmer, Jack Art Gray and Peter De Souza-Feighoney also star. [1]

Principal photography took place by November 2024. [1] Filming was originally set to commence in September 2024 and October 2024. [5] [6]

The 44th Golden Raspberry Awards, or Razzies, honored the worst the film industry had to offer in 2023 on March 9, 2024. The awards are based on votes from members of the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation. The nominations were announced on January 22, 2024.

Infestation: Origins is an upcoming survival horror game developed and published by Nightmare Forge Games. The game is known for featuring Mickey Mouse as he appeared in the 1928 animated short film Steamboat Willie. It was announced on January 1, 2024, after the short entered the public domain in the United States. The game was released in early access on November 15, 2024.

Scott Chambers is a British actor and film producer. He played Richard in the 2015 film Chicken. He also portrayed Christopher Robin in the 2024 film Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, replacing Nikolai Leon from the first film. He is credited as Chambers for his role as an actor and as Jeffrey for his role as a producer for the latter film.
