Point Pinos Lighthouse was lit on February 1, 1855, to guide ships on the Pacific Coast of California. It is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the West Coast of the United States and even the lens is original. Alcatraz Island Lighthouse preceded Point Pinos by eight months, but was replaced in 1909 by the expanding military prison. The Point Pinos Lighthouse is still an active United States Coast Guard aid to navigation. On-site museum exhibits and other lighthouse related functions are operated by the city of Pacific Grove, Monterey County, California. The lighthouse is surrounded by the Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Links.

Daniel Gonzalo Pino is an American actor who starred as Detective Scotty Valens on the CBS series Cold Case from 2003 to 2010, and as NYPD Detective Nick Amaro in the long-running NBC legal drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit from 2011 to 2015. José María Pino Suárez Mexican politician

José María Pino Suárez was a Mexican lawyer, writer, newspaper proprietor and politician who served as the 7th and last Vice President of Mexico between 1911 and his assassination in February 1913, during the events of the Ten Tragic Days. A leader of the Mexican Revolution, he fought together with Francisco I. Madero to end the Porfirista dictatorship and lead the country toward a democratic transition. In 1911, Madero and Pino Suárez became the first democratically elected leaders in Mexico's history. In 1969, his widow, María Cámara Vales, received the Belisario Domínguez Medal of Honor, recognizing their joint sacrifice for democracy and freedom in the country. Due to his loyalty to President Madero and his ideals, he is known by national historiography as "el caballero de la lealtad".

Pinos Altos is a census-designated place in Grant County, New Mexico, United States. The community was a mining town, formed in 1860 following the discovery of gold in the nearby Pinos Altos Mountains.
