Patrick Skene, known professionally as Pip Skid and Wicked Nut, is a Canadian rapper and writer, and one of the most active creative artists at the Vancouver-based independent hip hop label Peanuts & Corn. [1] Skid is known for his distinctive gravel-throated vocals. [2]

Career

In the early 1990s Skid was a co-founder of Canadian hip hop group Farm Fresh, [1] and recorded an EP and three albums with that group. He was also a member of other crews such as Fermented Reptile, Hip Hop Weiners, Taking Care of Business, and Break Bread. [3] [4]

In 2001 Skid took part in the Close To The Coast Festival in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. [5]

In 2004 Skid's album Funny Farm was released; it hit #32 [6] on the combined charts. His single "Alone Again" from this album Funny Farm was played in rotation on the Much Music network. [7]

In 2005 Skid and fellow rapper mcenroe released an album, Funny Farm 2 [8] which hit #3 [9] on the hip hop charts. Skid's 2010 album Skid Row peaked at #4 [10] on the Canadian Hip Hop charts on May 1, 2010.

The pioneer of 20th-century American beatboxing, Fresh is able to accurately imitate drum machines and various special effects using only his mouth, lips, gums, throat, tongue and a microphone.

Rod Bailey, stage name mcenroe, is a Canadian rapper and music industry entrepreneur. As an entrepreneur, he is the founder of his record label Peanuts & Corn Recordings, an independent hip hop distributor, as well as a company specializing in the marketing and promotion of independent music in Canada, Breadwinner Music Group.

Peanuts & Corn is a Canadian independent record label, releasing hip hop recordings since 1994. They have also been a distributor of Canadian hip hop releases since 2002.

Rascalz are a Canadian hip-hop group from Vancouver, British Columbia, who played a crucial role in the artistic and commercial development of Canadian hip hop as well as specifically for the Westcoast scene in Vancouver popularizing the term “Van City”. The group consists of emcees Red1 and Misfit, and record producer DJ Kemo. Breakdancers Zebroc and Dedos were also part of the group.

Rob Wilson better known by his stage name Fresh I.E., is a Christian rap artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba. His albums Red Letterz and Truth is Fallin' in tha Streetz were both nominated for Grammy Awards. Wilson is the first Canadian Christian artist to have been nominated for a Grammy Award. He has won several GMA Canada Covenant Awards including Rap/Hip Hop Song of the Year for World Vision (2006). Wilson founded the recording label Kingdom Music Inc. in 2006.
