Nevis is a small island in the Caribbean Sea that forms part of the inner arc of the Leeward Islands chain of the West Indies. Nevis and the neighbouring island of Saint Kitts constitute one country: the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Nevis is located near the northern end of the Lesser Antilles archipelago, about 350 kilometres (220 mi) east-southeast of Puerto Rico and 80 kilometres (50 mi) west of Antigua. David Parry was a Nevisian cricketer who played a single match for the Leeward Islands during the 1958 season. Little is known of Parry's life, other than that he originated from the town of Cotton Ground in Saint Thomas Lowland Parish. Having previously represented Nevis in several inter-island matches, he first played for the Leeward Islands in a match against the touring Pakistanis in February 1958. Parry's only match at first-class level came in July of the same year, in a match against Jamaica held at Melbourne Park, Kingston. Although usually considered an all-rounder, he scored a pair batted in the lower order during both innings of the match, and failed to take a wicket. Parry's nephew, Derick Parry, later played for the West Indies at both Test and One Day International (ODI) level.

The Indian community in Saint Kitts and Nevis is made up of Indo-Kittitians, Indo-Nevisians, non-resident Indians and persons of Indian origin. Indo-Kittitians and Indo-Nevisians are nationals of Saint Kitts and Nevis whose ancestry lies within the country of India. The community originated from the Indian indentured workers brought to Saint Kitts and Nevis by the British in 1861 and 1874 respectively. By 1884, most of the community had emigrated to Caribbean nations with larger Indian populations such as Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana and Suriname.
Virgil Browne is a Nevisian cricketer. He played in six first-class and two List A matches for the Leeward Islands in 2003 and 2004, and in two Twenty20 matches for the Nevis cricket team in 2006.
