Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi III (Sindhi : صبغت الله شاهه راشدي, Urdu : پير صبغت الله شاه راشدي ), also known as Raja Saein, the eighth Pir of Pagaro, (born 14 February 1956) is a Pakistani politician who has served as a member of Provincial Assembly of Sindh. [1]

Early life and career

He is the eldest son of 7th Pir Pagaro Syed Shah Mardan Shah-II who died on 10 January 2012. [2] He is 8th Pir Pagaro since 12 January 2012. [3] He is currently the President of the Pakistan Muslim League (F) and the leader of the Grand Democratic Alliance. [4]

Family

He has five sons, Pir Syed Muhammad Rashid Shah Rashidi, Pir Syed Rashid Shah Rashidi, Pir Syed Abu Bakar Shah Rashidi, Pir Syed Osman Shah Rashidi and Pir Syed Omar Mustafa Shah Rashidi. [5] [6]

In 1994, he disinherited his 4 younger sons due to association and involvement in criminal activities, he gave them their portions and revoked association with them. He stated that they have no association with him, or Pakistan Muslim League (F) or the shrine of Pir Sayyid Muhammad Rashid Shah Rozay Dhani. [7]

Political career

He was the Chairman of the District Council of Khairpur in 1983. He has been elected three times to the Sindh Assembly and has been a Provincial Minister. [3] He became the President of the Pakistan Muslim League (F) after the death of his father Syed Shah Mardan Shah-II in 2012. [8] Before the general election 2018 on 23 October 2017, he participated in forming the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) with other political parties in Sindh. [9] [10] He announced a manifesto to provide Education Health and Justice to the people.[ citation needed ]

Sayyid Sibghatullah Shah Al-Rashidi II, Pir Pagaro the sixth, was a spiritual leader of the Hurs during the Indian independence movement. Hur is a Sufi Muslim community in the province of Sindh. Sayyid Sibghatullah Shah Al-Rashidi was a champion of Hindu-Muslim unity, initially supporting the Indian National Congress and then the All India Forward Bloc.

Sayyid Shah Mardan Shah-II widely known as Pir of Pagaro VII was the spiritual leader of Hurs and president of political party Pakistan Muslim League (F). He was commonly known in Pakistan as Pir Sahib Pagara and Pir Shaab. He was an influential figure in Pakistani politics and the leader of Hur Force in Pakistan who participated in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. He was also a first-class cricketer. He died on 10 January 2012 in London, due to liver infection.

Pir Syed Sadaruddin Shah Rashidi is a Pakistani politician who served as Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, in Abbasi cabinet from August 2017 to May 2018. He previously served as the Minister for Overseas Pakistanis.

Syed Javed Ali Shah Jillani is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since February 2024 and previously served in this position from August 2018 till August 2023 and from 2003 to 2007.

Begum Mumtaz Rashidi was a Pakistani social worker and writer. She served as Pakistan's first woman press attache in 1954. She also worked in Philippines, China and Hong Kong on various ambassadorial assignments. She was wife of Pir Ali Muhammad Rashidi, the renowned Scholar and Politician of Sindh, Pakistan.
