Maya Beach Village is a village in the Stann Creek District of Belize located on the Placencia Peninsula, between Riversdale Village and Seine Bight. Based on the 2010 national census, Maya Beach has a population of 225 year round residents. The village is home to a number of resorts, boutique hotels, and vacation homes. Notable resorts include Maya Beach Hotel Bistro, Belize Ocean Club, and Naia Resort & Spa. The village is often considered a part of the peninsula's largest community and namesake, Placencia, which is a short drive from the village. Maya Beach is served by the Placencia Airport, with the closest international hub being Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport in Belize City.

Seine Bight is a village on the Placencia Peninsula located in the Stann Creek District of Belize. It is located 2 and a half miles south of Maya Beach Village and North of the village of Placencia. This small village has roughly 1,000 inhabitants, mostly Garifuna people who subsist on fishing, hunting, and homegrown vegetables. The early settlers named their village for their favored fishing tackle, Seine fishing and a bight, a bend or curve in a coastline.

Ranguana Caye

Ranguana Caye is a two-acre private island located roughly 20 miles west of Placencia. According to Peter Eltringham, author of The Rough Guide to Belize, Ranguana Caye has sand softer in comparison to Placencia with taller palm trees. Those exploring the caye are required to set up transportation through private boat charters. The island includes a dock and moorings for visiting boats, located just off the Belize Barrier Reef. A day tour to the island is through Belize Ocean Club, a resort located in Maya Beach Village near Placencia and managed by Muy'Ono Properties. Ranguana Caye also features three rustic cabanas for overnight guests, with Bully's Beach Bar, a BBQ grill and composting restroom systems for guests. The resort has no pay phones, but features wifi and radio communication. Snorkeling the Belize Barrier Reef and reef fishing are also some activities on the island.

Altitude FC is a Belizean Football Club based in Independence, Belize. Their semipro male team currently competes in highest Football League in the Country, the Premier League of Belize & their Female Team, The Altitude Chicks compete in the National Amateur Women's League (NAWL). They also have a Grassroots Soccer team as a part of their youth development program. They play their home game at The Michael Ashcroft Stadium located in downtown Independence, Belize. Altitude FC represents the Mid-South Football Association from the Stann Creek District of Belize. Altitude is a young, strong Football Club. Founded in 2013, They have competed in local 1st division competitions. For the past year, they have been competing in the top league in the country! In this short time, they have managed to build one on the biggest fan bases in the country.
