"Platinum Megamix" is a megamix by British group Steps, released on 3 June 2022 as a non-album single and in promotion of their forthcoming compilation album, Platinum Collection , scheduled for release on 19 August 2022. [1] The group appeared on BBC's The One Show on 1 June 2022 to announce the release of the album and the single. [2]

On 4 June 2022, Steps performed the track (in a shorter form) live for the first time at the Big Jubilee Street Party, commemorating the Queen's seventieth year on the throne. [4] Lee was absent from the performance due to illness. [5]

S Club, formerly known as S Club 7, are a British pop group formed in 1998 by Simon Fuller after he was fired as manager of the Spice Girls. Original members were Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Hannah Spearritt and Rachel Stevens. Cattermole left the group in 2002; it disbanded in 2003. After the members performed solo and in smaller groups, the group reunited temporarily for a short tour in 2015. In 2023, Cattermole died of heart failure and the band reunited again; however, Spearritt withdrew from the group.

In-addition to earning a BRIT Award nomination in 1999, for Best Newcomer, the group would be an opening support act for Britney Spears on her debut American tour the same year. When Richards and Watkins departed to form a recording duo, the group disbanded, on 26 December 2001 (officially). Their penultimate single reached No. 5 on the UK charts, while their final album of greatest hits, Gold (2001), was the group's second No. 1 album in the UK.
