The University of Wisconsin System is a university system of public universities in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is one of the largest public higher-education systems in the country, enrolling more than 174,000 students each year and employing approximately 39,000 faculty and staff statewide. The University of Wisconsin System is composed of two doctoral research universities, eleven comprehensive universities, and thirteen freshman-sophomore branch campuses.
Platteville is the largest city in Grant County in southwestern Wisconsin. The population was 11,836 at the 2020 census, up from 11,224 at the 2010 census. Much of this growth is likely due to the enrollment increase of the University of Wisconsin–Platteville. It is the principal city of the Platteville Micropolitan Statistical area, which has an estimated population of 49,681. Platteville is located atop the greater Platte River valley in the southern Driftless Region of Wisconsin, an area known for its karst topography and rolling hills.
The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) is a college athletic conference that competes in the NCAA's Division III. In women's gymnastics, it competes alongside Division I and II members, as the NCAA sponsors a single championship event open to members of all NCAA divisions. As the name implies, member teams are located in the state of Wisconsin, although there are three associate members from Minnesota and one from Illinois. All full members are part of the University of Wisconsin System.

Old World Wisconsin is an open-air museum located near Eagle, in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. It depicts housing and the daily life of settlers in 19th-century Wisconsin, with separate areas representing the traditions of different ethnic groups who settled in the state. Costumed interpreters portray the occupations and chores of typical settlers of the time.
University of Wisconsin–Platteville is a public university in Platteville, Wisconsin. Part of the University of Wisconsin System, it offers bachelor's and master's degrees. The university has three colleges that serve over 8,000 students on-campus and an additional 3,000 students through its five distance education programs.
William Francis "Bo" Ryan Jr. is an American former college basketball coach. He was the head coach of the University of Wisconsin–Madison Badgers men's basketball team from 2001 to December 2015. Ryan served as the head men's basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville from 1984 to 1999 and at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee from 1999 to 2001. His overall collegiate coaching record was 747–233. Ryan was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.

Glenn Robert Davis was a member of the United States House of Representatives for Wisconsin. He represented Wisconsin's 2nd congressional district from April 22, 1947 to January 3, 1957, and Wisconsin's 9th congressional district from January 3, 1965 to December 31, 1974.
Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium is a stadium in Platteville, Wisconsin. It is used for collegiate and high school American football and collegiate soccer, and is the home field of the University of Wisconsin–Platteville "Pioneers".
Paul Joseph Chryst is a former American football head coach and former player. He was most recently the head football coach for the Wisconsin Badgers. Chryst was the head coach at the University of Pittsburgh from 2012 to 2014. Prior to his head coaching career, Chryst had previously been the offensive coordinator at Wisconsin from 2005 through 2011. He also served in the same capacity at Oregon State University and was an assistant coach for the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League. Chryst played college football at Wisconsin, where he lettered as a quarterback and tight end from 1986 to 1988.
The Dodgeville School District is headquartered in the city of Dodgeville, Wisconsin. It serves students from Dodgeville and Ridgeway. It consists of three schools - one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school. The elementary school covers pre-K through 5th grade. The middle school serves grades 6 through 8, and the high school 9 through 12. A second elementary school, Ridgeway Elementary School, was previously located in Ridgeway but closed at the end of the 2020 school year after being consolidated with Dodgeville Elementary School.
Lake Travis High School is a public high school located in unincorporated Travis County, Texas, United States, approximately 20 miles west of Austin, near Lake Travis. The preparatory is accredited by the Texas Education Agency and rated as an exemplary secondary by TEA standards. LTHS serves students in grades nine through twelve who live in southwest Travis County and is part of the Lake Travis Independent School District. LTHS and LTISD were both established in 1981 after splitting from the Dripping Springs Independent School District. The current high school was built in 1988. Because of major growth in the Austin Metropolitan Area, the high school has undergone several expansion projects. Due to the increase in student population, LTHS was reclassified in 2012 as a member of the UIL 5A conference. LTHS was again reclassified in 2014 when Texas added a 6A classification.

The Southwest Wisconsin Conference, commonly referred as the SWC, is a Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) conference in southwest Wisconsin comprising the largest high schools in the area, including the school districts of Dodgeville, Lancaster, Platteville, Prairie du Chien, Richland Center, and River Valley.
The University of Wisconsin–Platteville Baraboo Sauk County is a two-year institution of the University of Wisconsin System and a branch campus of the University of Wisconsin–Platteville. It was formerly known as University of Wisconsin–Baraboo/Sauk County and was a part of the University of Wisconsin Colleges. UW–Platteville Baraboo Sauk County is located in Baraboo, Wisconsin, United States.
Chester Joseph Roberts was an American college football and college basketball coach in the early 1900s. He was a 1912 graduate of Lawrence College in Appleton, Wisconsin where he played football. After graduation, he served as a member of the faculty at several colleges in the Midwest. During this time Roberts served as head football coach at Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia in 1914, Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1915, and Platteville Normal College—now the University of Wisconsin–Platteville—in 1917, compiling a career college football head coaching record of 11–10. He was also the head basketball coach at Bethany (1914–1915) and Miami (1915–1916), tallying a career college basketball mark of 9–18.

The 49th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southwest Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Grant County, as well as the western half of Richland County and a small part of southwest Lafayette County. It includes the cities of Boscobel, Cuba City, Fennimore, Lancaster, and Platteville, and the villages of Benton, Bloomington, Blue River, Boaz, Cassville, Dickeyville, Hazel Green, Livingston, Montfort, Muscoda, Potosi, Woodman, and Yuba, and the part of the village of Viola within Richland County. The district also contains the University of Wisconsin–Platteville campus, Wyalusing State Park, and Nelson Dewey Memorial State Park, and historic landmarks such as the Potosi Brewery and the Grant County Courthouse. The district is represented by Republican Travis Tranel, since January 2011.
