Playford Road, located near Rushmere St Andrew, Ipswich is the training ground of Ipswich Town Football Club.

History

Playford Road was officially opened in 2001. In addition to multiple pitches, the initial development of the training ground also included a dome housing an indoor pitch, with new buildings also being constructed including a canteen, players' lounge, parents' lounge, recreation room, classroom, changing rooms and office accommodation. [1]

In 2018, a new state of the art gym was installed at Playford Road. Further development work was done during 2019, with new improvements made to the medical facilities, including the installation of a £90k recovery suite, £100k was also spent on installing new fencing around the complex, as well as general up keeping work. [2]

Facilities

The Playford Road complex includes a wide range of facilities for both the first-team and academy, including a gym, recovery suite, canteen, players' lounge, parents' lounge, recreation room, classroom, changing rooms and office accommodation. The training ground also includes 11 pitches of various specifications, including four full-size grass pitches, four medium-size grass pitches, one medium-size floodlit grass pitch, one full-size floodlit artificial 3G pitch and one indoor medium-size artificial 3G pitch, located within the dome. Trafford Training Centre is the training ground and academy headquarters of English football club Manchester United F.C. It is near the village of Carrington, Greater Manchester, England, and replaced The Cliff as the club's training ground in 2000. Construction on the complex began in 1999, the main building was opened and the first team moved in in 2000, followed in 2002 by the Academy facility, home to the club's renowned youth system. In 2013, major additions were completed at the complex, including a medical centre and sports science department, bringing the total construction cost of the training complex to over £60 million.

There are various facilities providing sport at the University of Aberdeen, run by Aberdeen University Sport and Recreation Services (SRS). This department of the University is responsible for the sports facilities, sports classes and the development team; it works in partnership with Aberdeen University Students' Association (AUSA) and the Aberdeen University Sports Union (AUSU). Thorp Arch is the training ground of Leeds United. Located in the village of Thorp Arch, near the town of Wetherby, the site covers 12.1 hectares. The facility consists of three sections: The Barn, The Grange and the training pitches. Leeds' under 18s and under 16s sides currently play their home games on the pitches at Thorp Arch.

Construction on the Nea Mesimvria area began in February 2009, and was opened in September 2011 where the first coaching session took place.
