Polly Maton (born 23 October 1999) is a British para sprinter and long jumper. [1] Maton was born without her right arm, runs with a prosthetic arm and competes in the T47 category. She won her first gold medals at the IWAS Junior Championships at the age of 14. [2]
Maton attended Urchfont C of E Primary School and went on to complete her GCSEs and A Levels at Dauntsey's School. She is currently reading History and Politics at the University of Oxford. [3]
Denise Lewis,, is a British sports presenter and former track and field athlete, who specialised in the heptathlon. She won the gold medal in the heptathlon at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, was twice Commonwealth Games champion, was the 1998 European Champion and won World Championships silver medals in 1997 and 1999. She was the first European to win the Olympic heptathlon, though Europeans, including Briton Mary Peters, had won the Olympic pentathlon precursor event.

Katherine Dinah "Goldie" Sayers, is a former British javelin thrower, who won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She was born in Newmarket, Suffolk, United Kingdom. On 20 May 2007, Sayers set a new British record in the javelin at 65.05 m, thus becoming the first British woman to throw over 65 metres since javelins were redesigned in 1999. Sayers set the record when competing for her university, Loughborough, at the Loughborough International match. She cemented this achievement at the Norwich Union Glasgow Grand Prix on 3 June 2007 where she beat a top-class international field in rainy conditions with a throw of 63.59 m. Defeated rivals included European champion and Olympic silver medallist Steffi Nerius and world champion Barbora Špotáková.
Mary Jefferson Eppes, known as Polly in childhood and Maria as an adult, was the younger of Thomas Jefferson's two daughters with his wife who survived beyond the age of 3. Geraldina “Dina” Asher-Smith is a British sprinter. She is the fastest British woman in recorded history and has been listed in the Powerlist as one of the UK's most influential people of African/African Caribbean descent, most recently in the 2021 edition. Asher-Smith has won a gold medal in the 200 m, silver in the 100 m, and another silver in the 4×100 m relay at the 2019 World Championships, breaking in the individual races her own British records with results which still stand. Aged 24, she was the first Briton to win three medals at a World Championships.
