Pompeya is a four-piece indie pop and rock band based in Moscow, Russia. [1] [2] [3] Their music is often described as bright and breezy, [1] [4] [5] a mix of '70s disco, '80s new wave and '90s pop rock. [6] [7] [8]

History

The band formed in 2006 [1] [4] with members Daniil Brod, Denis Agafonov and Nairi Simonaian, and later, Sasha Lipsky. [2] [5] They self-released their debut EP Cheenese in Russia in 2010, followed by a full-length album Tropical in 2011. [9] [10] The band toured extensively in Eastern Europe. [4]

Late in 2011, they recorded the 7 track EP Foursome at Bedrock Studios in Los Angeles, released in Russia in 2012. [3] [4] [10] They played shows in the U.S. for the first time in 2012 at New York City clubs Mercury Lounge and Glasslands Gallery. [11]

In 2013, their Tropical LP was re-released in the U.S. through Brooklyn label No Shame. [4] [11] [12] [13] [14] The U.S. release of Tropical combined tracks from the original LP with the Foursome EP. [4] [7]

A Tropical remix album with tracks from producers Felix Da Housecat, Fred Falke and Jimmy Edgar was released in January 2014 through No Shame. [1] [7] [8] [10] [12] [15] This was followed by showcases at SXSW, a full U.S. tour, and the release of new singles from Pompeya's Night EP, which was fully released worldwide on 17 June. The band then signed to Heist Or Hit Records and a full-length album was released in the UK in Autumn 2009. This album Tear Ourselves Away was released in the US in early 2010. Continued Silence EP is the fifth EP by American rock band Imagine Dragons, released on February 14, 2012 by KIDinaKORNER and Interscope Records. It was recorded at Westlake Recording Studios. All songs were written by Imagine Dragons and produced by Alex Da Kid, with mixing by engineer Manny Marroquin and engineer Rich Costey. The EP was mastered by mastering engineer Joe LaPorta. All of the songs on Continued Silence were featured on the band's debut album Night Visions except for "My Fault" and "Round and Round", which were later included on deluxe editions of Night Visions. Previous purchases of songs from the EP counted towards Night Visions and decreased its price.

R5 was an American pop rock band formed in Los Angeles in 2009. The band consisted of Ross Lynch, Riker Lynch, Rocky Lynch, Rydel Lynch (keyboards/vocals), and Ellington Ratliff (drums/vocals). They released their first EP Ready Set Rock on March 9, 2010, but it was removed once Ross got his role on the Disney Channel show Austin and Ally. Wallpaper is an American hip hop and pop music project, fronted by producer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter Eric Frederic based in Oakland, California. Wallpaper is signed to Boardwalk Records/Epic Records and has played at SXSW. The band is known for their lyrics, which Frederic has characterized as satire of pop music and consumer culture, as well as for their early use of exaggerated auto-tune.

The Lovely Bad Things are an American indie rock band from La Mirada, California. Formed in 2009, the group consists of brothers Camron and Brayden Ward, Tim Hatch and Lauren Curtius. All members are multi-instrumentalists and play guitar, bass and drums. They are known for switching between instruments often during live performances. Their garage rock sound has been called everything from proto-punk to surf punk. Chris Martins of Spin magazine online wrote, "If Pixies were Los Angeles surf punks instead of Boston smartypantses, they might've sounded a lot like the Lovely Bad Things." The band's personal influences include Sonic Youth, Modest Mouse, Dinosaur Jr, the B-52's, The Wipers, and Redd Kross.
