Popfrenzy is an independent record label and touring-events agency created by Chris Wu based in Sydney, Australia.
The agency commenced in 1999, putting on various underground parties/nights. Between 2000 and 2006, they booked a number of Sydney clubs and venues, including the Spanish, Mandarin, Taxi and Teachers Clubs.
In 2003, Popfrenzy started to bring overseas acts to Australia, as well establishing their own record label. [1] The first two releases were from Camera Obscura and Les Savy Fav.
They also started and ran an independent record store between mid-2005 and mid-2006 in Surry Hills, Sydney, called Gifted Records. In 2006 Popfrenzy issued a music magazine, Moss, edited by Tommy Thran, but it was short-lived. [2]
In 2012 Popfrenzy joined Cooperative Music in order to be able to promote domestic artists internationally. As part of the deal, Universal Music Group took on the label’s distribution. [3] [4] The label had previously been distributed by Inertia since early 2009. [5]
In 2014 they announced an arrangement with Béchamel Records to start releasing vinyl records, with the first release being Brisbane band, Per Purpose. [6]
Kill Rock Stars is an independent record label founded in February 1991 by Slim Moon and Tinuviel Sampson, and based in both Olympia, Washington, and Portland, Oregon. The Long Play (LP) release came in a pack of shower caps and is fairly difficult to find, sometimes fetching high prices on eBay. Coincidentally, only three-fifths of the line-up on this album, the band's first, remain in the present-day line-up, as drummer Patrick Mahoney was replaced by Harrison Haynes before the group's second album, The Cat and the Cobra, and guitarist Gibb Slife left before the recording of the Emor: Rome Upside Down EP.
Emor: Rome Upside Down is the only EP by Les Savy Fav, released in 2000. It was released by Southern Records.
All Tomorrow's Parties (ATP) was a UK organisation based in London that promoted music festivals, concerts and records throughout the world for over 10 years. It was founded by Barry Hogan in 2001 in preparation for the first All Tomorrow's Parties Festival, the line-up of which was picked by Mogwai and took place at Pontins, Camber Sands, England.
Wichita Recordings is an independent record label located in London, founded in 2000 by Mark Bowen and Dick Green. Its most notable signees include Bloc Party, The Cribs, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Bright Eyes, My Morning Jacket, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Best Coast, Los Campesinos! and Peter Bjorn and John. The label signed Clap Your Hands Say Yeah for a UK distribution deal for the group's debut album. They also signed the UK producers Simian Mobile Disco for the UK.
Frenchkiss Records is an independent record label based in New York City. The label was started in 1999 by Syd Butler, bassist and founder of Les Savy Fav. The label's first purpose was to release Les Savy Fav's second album The Cat and The Cobra, but has since been the label responsible for discovering a varying array of artists such as The Hold Steady, The Antlers, The Dodos, Local Natives and Passion Pit. The label has recently added a music publishing side as well, Frenchkiss Publishing.

BCore Disc is an independent Spanish record label focused on the hardcore punk DIY culture. A few years later Butler became the owner and founder of Frenchkiss Records. Butler is also a current member of The 8G Band from the show Late Night with Seth Meyers. He currently has two children with his wife actress Amy Carlson.

Described as a "post-punk DIY bricolage", the film was created using footage generated by the fans and musicians attending the events themselves, on a multitude of formats including Super8, camcorder and mobile phone. All Tomorrow's People is a name representing the contributions of these attendees.
