Popstars was a singing competition series in the Netherlands. The first season started on 22 August 2008. A second season was aired for 2009-2010 and third season aired in 2010-2011. The winners in season 1 were RED! made up of the three finalist winners Brandi Russell, Steffie Zoontjes and Deon Leon. Wesley Klein won in season 2 and Dean Saunders in season 3.
The precursor of these shows was the Dutch version of Popstars: The Rivals broadcast on RTL 4 in 2004 hosted by Beau van Erven Dorens. The series was won by the boy band Men2B (male category) and girl band Raffish (female category). Both disbanded in 2006.

Last Comic Standing is an American reality television talent competition show on NBC that aired from June 1, 2003, to August 9, 2010, then again in 2014 and 2015. The goal of the program was to select a comedian from an initially large group of hopefuls. For the first seven seasons, the winner received a cash prize and a television special; for season eight in 2014, the winner won a cash prize, a talent deal with NBC, and a half-hour scripted project developed by Universal Television.
Deutschland sucht den Superstar is a German reality talent show. Part of the Idol franchise, it was created by British media mogul Simon Fuller as a spin-off from the British show Pop Idol, of which two series were broadcast between the years of 2001 and 2003. Debuting to mediocre ratings in November 2002 on the RTL network, the show has since become one of the most successful shows on German television.
Raffaëla Paton is a Dutch singer of Surinamese descent and the winner of the 2006 Dutch talent show Idols. Paton participated in the Netherlands national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan with her entry Chocolatte but did not win.
Sharon Kips is the winner of the first edition of the Dutch X Factor, 24 February 2007. She was praised highly throughout the show, with high compliments from three of Holland's music experts Henk Temming, Marianne van Wijnkoop and Henkjan Smits. She beat contestants such as X6, Richy and Anja to become the eventual winner in February 2007. Her first single Heartbreak Away reached #1 in the Dutch Top 40 in the first week. In 2010 she auditioned as a "mystery"-kandidate for the Dutch version of Popstars and got through to the liveshows. In the liveshows she was one of the favorites. She placed third overall.
Idols 3 was the third season of the Dutch version of Idols hosted by Martijn Krabbé & Chantal Janzen. The winner was Raffaëla Paton with Floortje Smit as runner-up.
Popstars: The Rivals is a British television talent show series that was broadcast on ITV in late 2002. It was the second UK series of the international Popstars franchise. Unlike Popstars, which resulted in the formation of one winning group, Hear'Say, Popstars: The Rivals created two rival groups, Girls Aloud and One True Voice, who competed against each other for the Christmas number one spot on the UK Singles Chart. Girls Aloud won and would go on to achieve twenty consecutive top ten hits, four number ones and six top ten albums, two of which reached number one and from that, group member Cheryl would achieve five number-ones and two number one albums.
X Factor is a Franco-Belgian television music talent show to find new singing talent after public auditions, intermediate tests, and live shows. The first season was broadcast on Mondays, from September to December 2009, on W9 (France) and RTL-TVI (Belgium).
Popstars was a short-lived reality music talent show that was broadcast on ITV in early 2001. It was the first UK series of the international Popstars franchise, and was billed as a documentary on the formation of a modern pop group. The programme began with audition rounds of aspiring singers performing covers of classic songs before a panel of judges. The best performers were selected to come to London for further rounds of auditions. Over the weeks, the judges eliminated various singers from the auditions until just a few singers were left in contention. In the final weeks, five contestants were chosen by the judges to form the new pop group Hear'Say. The programme then showed the group recording and promoting their first single, documenting their first ventures into the music industry.

Ben Saunders is a Dutch singer who won the first-ever title of the Dutch singing competition series The Voice of Holland broadcast on RTL 4. The final of 2010–2011 season was held live on 21 January 2011. Saunders is also a tattoo artist. He is popularly known as "Tattoo Ben".

The Voice of Poland is a Polish reality talent show that premiered on September 3, 2011, on the TVP 2 television network. The Voice of Poland is part of the international syndication The Voice based on the reality singing competition launched in the Netherlands as The Voice of Holland, created by Dutch television producer John de Mol.

The tenth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar was broadcast on German channel RTL from 5 January to 11 May 2013. The winner received a recording contract with Universal Music Group and €500,000. There were new features in season 10. Participants had to be between 16 and 30 years old and could audition in 30 cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Bill and Tom Kaulitz from Tokio Hotel and Mateo from Culcha Candela became judges. Bruce Darnell and Natalie Horler both left after the completion of season 9. There was a trip to Curaçao during the recall. This is the first season in which three women reached the final four and the second season with a female final 2. After nine years, the show produced a female winner, since Elli Erl in season 2. Beatrice Egli won the show as the second female winner.
Beste Zangers, formerly De beste zangers van Nederland, is a Dutch reality television show by public broadcaster AVROTROS. The first series was aired between 5 July and 30 August 2009 and was hosted by Edsilia Rombley. She was first replaced by singer and actor Victor Reinier before Jan Smit became the permanent host from 2012 to 2019.

The Voice Kids is a Dutch talent show produced by Talpa and broadcast on RTL 4 since January 27, 2012. It was hosted by Martijn Krabbé and Wendy van Dijk in seasons 1 to 8. From season 9 to 10, it was hosted by Martijn Krabbé and Jamai Loman. Since season 11, it has been hosted by Buddy Vedder and Jamai Loman.
The tenth season of the Dutch reality singing competition The Voice of Holland premiered on 8 November 2019 on RTL4. Host Martijn Krabbé, as well as the four coaches from the previous season, Lil Kleine, Waylon, Ali B and Anouk all returned, while Wendy van Dijk left to move to SBS6 and was replaced by Chantal Janzen as a host with Krabbé, also Jamai Loman was replaced by Geraldine Kemper as a backstage host.
The eleventh season of the talent show The Voice of Germany premiered on October 7, 2021 on ProSieben and on October 10, 2021 on Sat.1. Both singers and songwriters Mark Forster and Nico Santos returned as coaches for their fifth and second seasons, respectively, and two new coaches joined: singers and songwriters Johannes Oerding, and Sarah Connor, who replaced Samu Haber & Rea Garvey, and Stefanie Kloss & Yvonne Catterfeld. Elif Demirezer was the new "Comeback Stage" coach, who selected contestants to participate in The Voice: Comeback Stage by SEAT, replacing Michael Schulte. Thore Schölermann and Lena Gercke returned as hosts for their tenth and seventh seasons, respectively.
The eighth season of The Voice van Vlaanderen premiered on September 30, 2022 on the VTM television network. It was announced in March 2022 that the show's eighth season would be returning in the second half of the year. Natalia Druyts and Koen Wauters returned for their seventh and eighth season, respectively. Jan Paternoster and Mathieu Terryn, who both founded a band of their own where they serve as a vocalist, joined the show as coaches for the first time, replacing Tourist LeMC and Niels Destadsbader. Meanwhile, Laura Tesoro returned for her second season as a coach of the Comeback Stage.
