Port Discovery is a "port-of-call" (themed land) at Tokyo DisneySea in the Tokyo Disney Resort. It represents a "marina of the future". [1]

Theming

Port Discovery is themed to a retrofuturistic research station inspired by the world of science fiction novels and films from the early 20th century. The area is home to two fictional societies, 'Center for Weather Control,' and later the 'Marine Life Institute' from Pixar's Finding Dory. [2] [3]

Tokyo Disneyland is a 115-acre (47 ha) theme park at the Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, near Tokyo. Fantasmic! is a nighttime show at Disneyland and Disney's Hollywood Studios. The show formerly operated at Tokyo DisneySea. It features fireworks, characters, live actors, water effects, pyrotechnics, lasers, music, audio-animatronics, searchlights, decorated boat floats, and mist screen projections. The narrative of Fantasmic! is a voyage through Mickey Mouse's imagination that culminates in a battle against the Disney Villains.

Splash Mountain is a log flume ride at Tokyo Disneyland. It was formerly located at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom. The attraction is based on the animated sequences of the 1946 Disney film Song of the South. The ride experience begins with a peaceful outdoor float-through that leads to indoor dark ride segments, with a climactic steep drop into a "briar patch" followed by an indoor finale. The drop is 52.5 feet.

Journey to the Center of the Earth(センター・オブ・ジ・アース) is a slot car dark ride at the Tokyo DisneySea theme park in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan. One of the park's opening day attractions, it is located in the Jules Verne-themed Mysterious Island area of the park, and is loosely themed after Verne's 1864 novel of the same name. The attraction's ride system is based on the high speed slot car system originally created for the Test Track attraction opened in 1999 at Epcot in Walt Disney World. Original music for the ride was created by longtime Disney composer Buddy Baker.

Disney Sea was an aquatic-themed amusement park proposed by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Disney Sea, California was unveiled on July 31,1990 as one part of the Disney Decade Expansion. This part of the expansion would be focused on the development of Disney Port, as part of the canceled resort complex, Port Disney, in Long Beach, California.

The attraction closed on May 17, 2016, and was replaced by a new Finding Nemo/Finding Dory simulator ride called Nemo & Friends SeaRider.

Frozen Ever After is a musical reversing Shoot the Chute dark ride in Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort. Part of the Norway Pavilion of the Epcot's World Showcase section, the attraction features scenes inspired by Disney's animated film Frozen as well as the 2015 animated short Frozen Fever. It opened on June 21, 2016, using the ride vehicles and track layout of the former Maelstrom attraction. Versions of the attraction are scheduled to open at Hong Kong Disneyland on November 20, 2023, at Tokyo DisneySea in spring 2024, and Walt Disney Studios Park in the second half of 2025.

Nemo & Friends SeaRider utilizes the same ride system as its predecessor, StormRider, which closed in 2016. The ride opened in May 2017.

Fantasy Springsis an upcoming themed port (area) at Tokyo DisneySea similar to Fantasyland. The port is inspired by "a magical spring that leads to a world of Disney fantasy" and will comprise three distinct areas recreating the worlds of the Disney films: Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan. The expansion will add four new attractions, three restaurants, one shop and a new luxury hotel situated inside the port to Tokyo DisneySea. At an estimated construction cost of ¥320 billion Fantasy Springs is Tokyo DisneySea's most expensive ever expansion and with a development area of approximately 140,000 square meters it is also the parks largest expansion. Fantasy Springs is expected to open in Spring 2024.
