Portia Archer is an American sports executive who is the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). She was previously the chief operating officer (COO) of the NBA development competition G League.

Career

Archer was raised in Chicago. [1] She graduated from the University of Chicago in 1990 and Columbia Business School in 1998. [2] [3] Before going into sports management, she worked for AOL Time Warner, the BBC, HBO, and NBC Sports. [1]

Archer became the NBA G League's first COO in February 2020. [3] She helped lead the G League through the COVID-19 pandemic. [1] She also became an assistant professor in Columbia University's sports management graduate program. [1]

On June 5, 2024, the WTA announced that Archer would succeed CEO Steve Simon, taking the position on July 29. [4]

Edward Regis Policy is an American football executive who is the current chief operating officer (COO) and general counsel for the Green Bay Packers. Policy, whose father Carmen Policy was an American football executive for the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns, received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and his Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School. After a brief stint as a lawyer, Policy worked for the Arena Football League (AFL) for nine years, including serving two years as it Commissioner. He then worked for the NFL for two years before being hired by the Packers in 2012 as a vice president and general counsel. During his time with the Packers, Policy helped developed the Titletown District and began taking on more responsibility in the business operations of the team. In 2024, Policy was selected as the next president of the Packers by its board of directors, succeeding current president Mark Murphy, who is facing a mandatory retirement age in July 2025.

Karen Bryant is a basketball executive. She last served as the Chief Administrative Officer and General Manager of the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA. Bryant started her professional sports career in the American Basketball League from 1996 to 1998. Bryant started out as the director of basketball operations for the Seattle Reign in 1996 before being named general manager in 1998. After the ABL closed in 1998, Bryant joined the WNBA as part of the newly formed Seattle Storm in 1999. With the Storm, Bryant held multiple executive positions between 1999 and 2014. Her executive roles with the Storm included chief operating officer from 2003 to 2008 and chief executive officer between 2008 and 2014.

Amber Cox is a sports executive and current chief operating officer (COO) and General Manager of the Indiana Fever since October 4, 2024. Before joining the Fever, Cox had various sports positions at William Woods University and Columbia College from the 1990s to 2000s. Cox went on to join the Phoenix Mercury in 2004 and began working as the director of marketing and promotions for the WNBA team. During her tenure with the Mercury, Cox became the team's chief operating officer and president in the 2010s. She also was an interim general manager for the team in 2013.
