Posi-Tone Records is an American jazz record label founded by Marc Free, a producer and musician who runs the company with engineer Nick O'Toole. [1] [2] [3] The label's first five albums were issued in 1995.

The roster includes trombonist Steve Davis, saxophonist Ralph Bowen, guitarist Ed Cherry, trumpeter David Weiss, Jon Davis, Will Bernard, Brian Charette, Walt Weiskopf, Joe Magnarelli and Michael Dease. [4]

<i>Four Seasons of Morita Village</i> Album by Toshiko Akiyoshi – Lew Tabackin Big Band

Four Seasons of Morita Village is the fifth album recorded by the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra featuring Lew Tabackin. It was released in 1996 and won the Swing Journal Silver Disk Award for that year. The central "Four Seasons of Morita Village Suite" was commissioned by Morita Village in Aomori Prefecture, Japan. This recording is not to be confused with the 1990 Toshiko Akiyoshi Trio recording, Four Seasons.

Desert Lady / Fantasy is the fourth recording released by the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra featuring Lew Tabackin. Not to be confused with the 1989 Lew Tabackin (Quartet) Concord Records release, Desert Lady. The album received two Grammy award nominations in the "Best Large Jazz Ensemble Performance" and "Best Arrangement on an Instrumental" categories.

Michael Patrick Dease is an American jazz tenor and bass trombonist, composer and producer. He also plays saxophone, trumpet, flugelhorn, bass and piano.

Edward E. Cherry Jr. is an American jazz guitarist and studio musician. Cherry is perhaps best known for his long association with trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie, with whom he performed from 1978 until shortly before Gillespie's death in 1993. Since that time, he has worked with Paquito D'Rivera, Jon Faddis, John Patton, Hamiet Bluiett, Henry Threadgill, and Paula West. He has recorded a number of albums as a leader.
