Postcards is a 2024 Nigerian Netflix series created by Hamisha Daryani Ahuja. Filmed in Nigeria and India, the series is a cross-cultural venture between Nollywood and Bollywood and stars performers from both industries including Sola Sobowale, Richard Mofe Damijo, Tobi Bakre, Rahama Sadau, Rajneesh Duggal, and Nancy Isime. Plot

Wealthy businesswoman, Bunmi (Sola Sobowale), lives her life to the fullest as a Lagos socialite, a decision made following her husband's death twenty years prior, but despite her status on the Eko party circuit, she leads a secluded life. After a fibroids diagnosis in hospital, she flies to Mumbai where she befriends Siddharth (Rajneesh Duggal), an Indian surgeon married to a Nigerian woman. Fearing she will die in surgery, Bunmi makes a frantic call to Yemi (Tobi Bakre), her estranged son with no solid career goals, a failed Nollywood career behind him, and a lack of ambition. Yemi rejects the idea of continuing his education and lives as a layabout until an Indian-based talent agency discovers his dancing skills on video, and he travels to Mumbai to appear in an upcoming Bollywood project, unbeknown to Bunmi.

Siddharth's wife, Zainab (Rahama Sadau), has resolved to never have children, a decision her husband initially supported, but his change of heart causes conflict in their marriage. Despite her mother-in-law's (Sheila Gore) disappointment and her sister Isioma's (Nancy Isime) intervention, Zainab remains resolute in her stance, citing financial strain, career restraints, and societal prejudice against mixed-race children as her reasons. Trouble ensues when Zainab suspects Siddharth is having an affair with Kareena (Leika Prajapati), his flirtatious fellow doctor in whom he confides with his marriage crisis. Zainab—an old acquaintance of Bunmi's—soon discovers she is pregnant, and is contemplating an abortion without Siddharth's knowledge.

Olumide (Richard Mofe Damijo), Bunmi's surly Mumbai-based brother, is dedicated solely to his business, leaving no time for his family (He puts up Olubunmi in a hotel as opposed to accommodating her within his household). Olumide's only confidant, his accountant Kabir (Rio Kapaola), who constantly chides his hectic lifestyle, escorts him to a house viewing where they spot Olumide's former girlfriend Rekha who temporarily resides on the premises. He recalls how they broke up years ago (Rekha had turned down his proposal due to the stigma linked to interracial marriage in India), leaving him heartbroken, and is further distraught when her daughter, Leila, informs him that her mother is in the early stage of Alzheimer's. With his 60th birthday approaching, Olumide regrets denying himself a second chance at love. Realising family is more valuable than wealth, inviting Bunmi to stay at his house following her surgery.

Despite various altercations with Ronny, a cast member threatened by his presence on-set, Olumide's nephew Yemi gradually rises through the ranks, becoming a principal dancer in the Bollywood production. After Yemi and Ronny come to blows, both their roles are on the line, but other cast members—particularly Aarti, an actress Yemi has befriended—confirm Ronny's bullying, and the latter is dismissed from the production. Yemi is delighted when he is offered a supporting lead role in an international series, but his joy is short-lived when his friend Bolu calls from Nigeria to inform him of his mother's surgery. Filled with remorse at not contacting Bunmi earlier, Yemi resolves to become a better person, with drive and determination.

The series ends with Olumide celebrating his 60th birthday. Kabir is unable to attend, but Bunmi—who has invited Siddharth and Zainab—is reunited with Yemi. Both mother and son resolve their differences (Bunmi had objected to his decision not to pursue further education, while Yemi had considered her unsupportive). Olumide apologises to Zainab for his own lack of support when she first relocated to India, and makes his nephew his heir provided he enrolls in college, and Zainab—who decided against the abortion—announces her pregnancy.

Checkmate is seen in the show's opening credits, where a chess player's king is directly attacked by an opponent's pawn, making escape impossible.

Hamisha Daryani Ahuja is a Nigerian film producer, director, actress and businesswoman based in Nigeria. Ahuja made her directorial and acting debut in the Nollywood-Bollywood cross-cultural film Namaste Wahala.

Shanty Town is a Nigerian crime thriller television series created by Xavier Ighorodje and Chichi Nworah and produced by Chinenye Nworah, the six-part series was released to Netflix on 20 January 2023. The Black Book is a 2023 Nigerian crime thriller film produced and directed by Editi Effiong, starring Richard Mofe-Damijo, Sam Dede, Shaffy Bello, Femi Branch, Alex Usifo, Ade Laoye and Ireti Doyle. The film was released to Netflix on 22 September 2023, Nigerian online newspaper Premium Times has likened Richard Mofe-Damijo's character in the film to John Wick's character owing to the storyline leaning towards a former hitman who is now drawn back into the criminal underworld he had abandoned.
