Janata Dal (United) ("People's Party (United)"),abbreviated as JD(U),is an Indian political party with political presence mainly in eastern and north-eastern India. JD(U) is recognised as a state party in the states of Bihar and Manipur and is a part of government in both the states. JD(U) heads the government in Bihar and is part of the NDA government in Manipur. JD(U) won 12 seats in the 2024 Indian general election,making it the seventh largest party in the Lok Sabha. JD(U) states that they believe in promoting social justice and lifting up marginalized peoples.

On 20 February 2023,Kushwaha resigned from all positions in Janata Dal (United) and formed his own party called Rashtriya Lok Morcha due to his political problems with JD(U) and Nitish Kumar.

Rajeev Kumar Singh is a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Tarapur constituency in the Bihar Legislative Assembly in India. He is a member of Janata Dal (United). Uday Narayan Rai,also known as Bhola Babu and Bhola Rai,is an Indian politician from the state of Bihar. He was a member of Bihar Legislative Assembly from Raghopur and served as a state cabinet minister in the governments of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. He was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) three times in the Bihar Assembly elections of 1980,1985 and 1990.

Ramsewak Singh is an Indian politician and a member of the Janata Dal (United) political party. He served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Bihar Legislative Assembly for four consecutive terms. Singh,who represented the Hathua Assembly constituency,became a minister for the first time in the Nitish government in 2019. Prior to this,he had held the post of Chief Whip of the ruling JD(U) for two terms. He is a resident of Asnand Tola village of Uchkagaon block. Before becoming an MLA,he was also the head of Balesra Panchayat. After winning the election of Mukhiya,he became an MLA for the first time from Hathua Assembly under the symbol of Nitish Kumar's JD(U). This was followed by his four consecutive electoral victories for the membership of Bihar Legislative Assembly.

Singh was elected to the Assembly in 2020 Assembly elections by defeating Ram Sewak Singh of Janata Dal (United),by a margin of more than 30,000 votes. He was elected as a candidate of Rashtriya Janata Dal.
Fateh Bahadur Singh commonly known as Fateh Bahadur Kushwaha is a member of Bihar Legislative Assembly for the 17th Bihar Assembly. He was elected as a candidate of Rashtriya Janata Dal from the Dehri Assembly constituency of Rohtas district. In the 2020 Assembly elections,he defeated Satyanarayan Singh of Bhartiya Janata Party,who was his nearest political rival.
Surendra Prasad Singh also known as Surendra Singh Kushwaha is an Indian politician and former member of Bihar Legislative Assembly from Amarpur Assembly constituency in Banka district of Bihar. Singh has served as the member of Bihar Legislative Assembly for three terms. He won four elections from Amarpur constituency from 1995 to 2010,as a candidate of Rashtriya Janata Dal. He was defeated in 2010 assembly elections by Janardan Manjhi,which caused an end to his career as active politician.
Ravindra Singh also known as Ravindra Singh Kushwaha is an Indian politician based in Bihar,who was elected to Bihar Legislative Assembly twice from Arwal Assembly constituency. Singh was a member of Janata Dal and later became a member of Rashtriya Janata Dal. He is considered as one of the close accomplice of former Bihar Chief Minister,Lalu Prasad Yadav. Singh hails from communist background and before joining politics,he was a member of armed naxalite organisations active in the Bihar's red corridor.
