The Samajwadi Party is a socialist political party in India,headquartered in New Delhi. It is mainly based in Uttar Pradesh,with significant presence in other states as well.With a secular and democratic ideology,the Samajwadi Party believes in creating a socialist society,which works on the principle of equality.In 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election party won 32.06% vote share with 111 seats,Vote share was highest since party formed.the party was able make government 3 times,with one time full majority since 2012 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.the party was fiveth largest party by vote share since 2019 general elections but it acquired less seats as compared to other parties.

2019 Rajya Sabha elections were held on 7 June,5 July and 18 July,to elect the retiring members of the Rajya Sabha,the Indian Parliament's upper chamber. The elections were held to elect 2 members from Assam on 7 June 2019,as well as 6 members from Tamil Nadu on 5 July 2019.
