Pramod Ratan Patil (born 26 September 1973),commonly known as Raju Patil,is an Indian politician and leader of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena in the Kalyan-Dombivli region. He is a supporter of MNS Chief Raj Thackeray. He played a major role in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) election in 2010 where the MNS won 29 seats. He was a Member of Thane Zilha Parishad from 2009 to 2012. In the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election he was elected to the Kalyan Rural seat. [1]
His father,Ratanbuva Patil,was a senior Labour leader in Premier Company.[ clarification needed ] His elder brother Ramesh was a member of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee until 2009 when he switched allegiance to MNS,convincing Raju to join him in active politics.[ citation needed ] His brother resigned as a member of Thane ZP and contested the Vidhansabha election from Kalyan Rural constituency from MNS. Raju contested the same Thane Zilha Parishad seat and was elected unopposed.[ citation needed ]
Thane Zilha Parishad Member,Raj Thackeray appointed Patil as secretary of the MNS Labour union. [2] After the success of the KDMC election the party gave him Marathwada Samparkpramukh responsibility. [3]
Kalyan is a city on the banks of Ulhas River in Thane district of Maharashtra state in Konkan division. It is governed by Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation. Kalyan is a subdivision (Taluka) of Thane district. Kalyan and its neighbouring township of Dombivli jointly form Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation,abbreviated as KDMC. It is a founding city of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Kalyan is the 7th biggest city in Maharashtra and 29th in India. Kalyan also serves as a major railway station for the trains bound to Mumbai and is a large junction separating two routes,one going Karjat and other Kasara.
Raj Shrikant Thackeray is an Indian politician and the founding chairperson of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS),a regional political party. He is the nephew of ShivSena Founder Balasaheb Thackeray.
The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena is a Regionalist Indian political party based in the state of Maharashtra and operates on the ideology of Hindutva and Marathi Manus. It was founded on 9 March 2006 in Mumbai by Raj Thackeray after he left the Shiv Sena party due to differences with his cousin Uddhav Thackeray,who later became the 19th Chief Minister Of Maharashtra and to his sidelining by the Shiv Sena in major decisions like distribution of election tickets.
The 2008 attacks on Uttar Pradeshi and Bihari migrants in Maharashtra began on 3 February 2008 after violent clashes between workers of two political parties—Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Samajwadi Party (SP)—at Dadar in Mumbai,capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra. The clashes took place when workers of MNS,a splinter faction formed out of the Shiv Sena,tried to attack workers of SP,the regional party based in Uttar Pradesh,who were proceeding to attend a rally organised by the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA). Defending his party's stand,MNS chief Raj Thackeray explained that the attack was a reaction to the "provocative and unnecessary show of strength" and "uncontrolled political and cultural dadagiri (bullying) of Uttar Pradeshi and Bihari migrants and their leaders".
On 19 October 2008,Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists attacked North Indian candidates appearing for the All India Railway Recruitment Board entrance exam for the Western region in Mumbai,India. The attacks invoked a quick reaction from Bihar members of the Union Government in Delhi,notably the Union Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his cabinet colleague,Ram Vilas Paswan. The Chief Minister of Bihar,Nitish Kumar spoke to his Maharashtra counterpart Vilasrao Deshmukh and urged him to provide protection to the migrants from Bihar. Lalu called for the MNS to be shut down and called Raj Thackeray,its leader,a "mental case."

Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation is the governing body of the city of Kalyan-Dombivli,located in the Thane district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Although a parliamentary democracy,Indian politics has increasingly become dynastic,possibly due to the absence of a party organization,independent civil society associations that mobilize support for the party,and centralized financing of elections. Family members have also led the Congress party for most of the period since 1978 when Indira Gandhi floated the then Congress(I) faction of the party. It also is fairly common in many political parties in Maharashtra. The dynastic phenomenon is seen from national level down to district level and even village level.The three-tier structure of Panchayati Raj established in the 1960s also helped to create and consolidate the dynastic phenomenon in rural areas. Apart from government,political families also control cooperative institutions,mainly cooperative sugar factories,district cooperative banks in the state,and since the 1980s private for profit colleges. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party also features several senior leaders who are dynasts. In Maharashtra,the NCP has particularly high level of dynasticism.
