Prateep Polphantin (born 16 July 1926) is a Thai former sports shooter. He competed in the 25 metre pistol event at the 1960 Summer Olympics and 1962 Asian Games. [1] [2]

Prateep Ungsongtham Hata is a Thai activist noted for her work with slum dwellers in the Khlong Toei District of Bangkok, Thailand. Among her supporters, she is known as Khru Prateep, the "Angel of Khlong Toei" or "Slum Angel". She was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Public Service in 1978, founded and became the Secretary General of the Duang Prateep Foundation. She was one of the leaders of the 1992 oppositional movement. In 2000, she was elected to the Senate, representing Bangkok.

The Eldora Dirt Derby was a 75-mile-long (121 km) annual race in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race held at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. During its existence from 2013 to 2019, the race was the only dirt track racing event on any NASCAR national touring series schedule and the first since 1970. Due to coronavirus concerns in 2020, the race was not run and is not scheduled to be run again in the Truck Series. The standalone dirt event was later moved to Knoxville Raceway for 2021.

The species was named in honor of herpetologist Shun-ichi Ueno. T. uyenoi is one of the few salamander species endemic to Thailand.

The Friends of Police (FoP) was a community policing initiative in Tamil Nadu. The movement was founded by in 1993 by Philip V. Prateep, as Superintendent of police in Ramanathapuram district. In 1994, the initiative received official sanction by the state government and expanded state-wide. The government revoked all official support for the program in July 2020 following the alleged involvement of Friends of Police members in two custodial deaths at the hands of the police. FoP responded by stating that none of their registered members were involved in the case. Referring to media reports about some unauthorized persons infiltrating into FoP with fake identity cards, FOP said appropriate legal action would be initiated against such suspects who were tarnishing the “fair name” of the organization.
