Prem Chand Gupta (born 3 February 1950) is an Indian politician and a former cabinet minister in Ministry of Corporate Affairs of India. [1] He is a member of the Rajya Sabha,the upper house of Indian Parliament from Bihar. [2] Earlier,he was elected from Jharkhand to the Rajya Sabha. [3] He had some involvement in coal scam. [4] He was previously an NRI based in Hong Kong who promoted a factory manufacturing watches in India (Indo Swiss Time) and entered politics later. He currently lives in South Extension,New Delhi.

Ram Vilas Paswan was an Indian politician from Bihar and the Cabinet Minister of Consumer Affairs,Food and Public Distribution in the first and second Modi ministries. Shibu Soren is an Indian politician who thrice served as Chief Minister of Jharkhand,first in 2005 for 10 days,then from 2008 to 2009 and again from 2009 to 2010. He was sworn in as the third Chief Minister of Jharkhand on 30 December 2009 after winning the Jharkhand Assembly elections. He resigned on 30 May 2010 after failing to obtain coalition support from the Bharatiya Janata Party,his national party partner. Supreme Court of India,in its judgement dated 10 July 2013 while disposing the Lily Thomas v. Union of India case,ruled that any Member of Parliament (MP),Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) or Member of a Legislative Council (MLC) who is convicted of a crime and given a minimum of two years' imprisonment,loses membership of the House with immediate effect. 2020 Rajya Sabha elections were the set of indirect elections by the members of State legislatures of India,to elect new members to fill vacancies in the Rajya Sabha –the upper house of the Parliament of India. The elections are held annually and throughout the year on an ad hoc basis. The elections in 2020 are for a total of 73 seats of which 55 of them were to be elected by March 26. The remaining were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Election Commission of India later announced all the elections for the remaining 24 Rajya Sabha seats were to be held on 19 June 2020.
