PrepStar College Recruiting, known also as PrepStar, is an online magazine at www.prepstar.com, which was established in 1982. [1] It provides information on the top football and basketball prospects in the United States. [1] [2] [3] [4] The online magazine is produced by College Sports USA, which was founded by Jeff Duva, a former college quarterback, and Jack Wright. [5]

In 1999, Duva was its publisher, and Rick Kimbrel was its editor. [6] [7] [8] [9] It is located in Woodland Hills, California. [10] [11]

Eric Steinbach is an American former professional football player who was a guard for nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Iowa Hawkeyes, and earned consensus All-American honors. He was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2003 NFL draft. Jason John Gesser is an American college football former player and assistant athletic director who is currently the offensive coordinator at Seton Catholic High School in Vancouver, Washington. He played quarterback for Washington State Cougars, Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League (AFL), Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL). After his playing career ended, Gesser went into coaching. In 2012 he was the interim head coach of the Idaho Vandals. From 2014 to 2018 he was the assistant athletic director at Washington State.

Jameel Dumas is a former American football linebacker. He played for Syracuse University from 2000 to 2003, where he made 179 tackles and earned All-American honors. After suffering a knee injury in the first game of his fifth-year senior season, Dumas missed the remainder of the year. After recovering from knee surgery, he played with the Albany Conquest in 2005 as a two-way player. He also played in the NFL Europa with the Rhein Fire in 2006 and Berlin Thunder in 2007.

David Bailey is an American professional basketball player. He is most notable for his time spent as point guard for the Loyola Ramblers men's basketball team from 1999 to 2003. He was a three-time All-Horizon League selection, a Horizon League scoring champion, a Horizon League assists champion and Horizon League All-Tournament team selection. He is the older brother of crosstown Horizon League foe and former George Westinghouse College Prep teammate Martell Bailey. The brothers' tenure in the league overlapped for two seasons, including one in which they were both All-League honorees. They played head-to-head several times, including a Horizon League men's basketball tournament championship game in which both were key performers.

Jabari Ali Parker is an American professional basketball player for FC Barcelona of the Spanish Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. He was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the second overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft, after one season of playing for Duke University. He played four seasons for the Bucks. Then, he played with 5 different teams over the course of 4 more NBA seasons. Parker was a standout high school athlete, helping his team win four straight Illinois state championships for Simeon Career Academy, and was named the National High School Player of the Year by Gatorade and McDonald's. In his freshman year for the 2013–14 Duke Blue Devils, he was named a consensus first-team All-American, the USBWA National Freshman of the Year, and the runner-up for the John R. Wooden Award.

Jahlil Obika Okafor is a Nigerian-American professional basketball player for the Capitanes de Arecibo of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). He played his freshman season of college basketball for the 2014–15 Duke national championship team. He was selected with the third overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Parade All-America Boys Basketball Team was an annual selection by Parade that nationally honored the top high school boys' basketball players in the United States. It was part of the Parade All-American series that originated with boys basketball before branching to other sports. Started by the Sunday magazine in 1957, it had been the longest ongoing selection of high school basketball All-Americans in the country at the time of its final selections in 2015. Many of the honorees went on to star as college and professional basketball players. As of March 2011, there were 162 Parade All-Americans that were playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
