Prickly Roses is a Ugandan drama film produced by Eleanor Nabwiso and directed by Mathew Nabwiso at Nabwiso Films in association with Akina Mama Wa Afrika, supported by Hivos. It stars Hellen Lukoma as Nankya, Eleanor Nabwiso as Nazziwa and Sarafina Muhawenimana as Kezia. [1] [2]
Nankya, Kezia and Nazziwa are poor young women working at a flower farm in Uganda. They have to deal with harsh working conditions at work and return home to face even more hardships. Nankya fights to break the chauvinistic chain. [3]
The film premiered on 13 February 2020 in Kampala under the campaign "Women @ Work". It explores the working conditions under which women work on flower gardens in Uganda in contrast with the cash value of the flowers on the market in Uganda and abroad. The film was set to open in theateres in Uganda in March 2020 but all theateres were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic that had reached Uganda in March 2020. [4]

Kyaddala is a Ugandan drama television series by Reach a Hand Uganda. The first season was produced by Emmanuel Ikubese Films and Reach a Hand Uganda. Set in a present day high school life, Kyaddala a Luganda word for "It's Real", focuses on real life social issues that affect young people across Africa and their attempts to overcome those issues. The series stars Catherine Namugenyi in the lead role as Sanyu, Eleanor Nabwiso, Housen Mushema second chance star Roger Mugisha Sanyu was nominated for Best TV series and Tracy Kababiito was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama series at the 8th Uganda Film Festival Awards.
Immaculate Akello is a Ugandan social entrepreneur, climate change activist, Human rights activist and lawyer whose main aim is to transform the lives of rural women in northern Uganda. Akello is the founder of Generation Engage Network, a youth led organization that focuses on environmental rights and environmental democracy in Northern and Central Uganda. Through this organization, she represented Uganda at the Vijjana Assembly in 2018 in Arusha, Tanzania and she was the speaker of the 2018 National Parliamentary youth moot in Uganda.
