Pride Tiger was a Canadian hard rock music group based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The band members were vocalist and drummer Matt Wood, guitarists Bob Froese and Sunny Dhak, and bassist Mike Payette.
Pride Tiger formed 2005 in Vancouver. The name "Pride Tiger" came from a mix of "Ride the Tiger" (a lyric from the Dio song, "Holy Diver") and "Pride Pops" (a drink similar to apple cider).[ citation needed ] Dhak, Froese and Wood were all former members of 3 Inches of Blood; Payette was a former member of S.T.R.E.E.T.S. The band released their debut EP in 2006. They subsequently signed with EMI Music Canada, who released their full-length debut album, The Lucky Ones, in June 2007. [2] [3] In 2008 the band performed at the South by South West festival. [4]
The band's single "White Witch Woman Blues" was playlisted on CBC Radio 3 and other Canadian radio stations. It was noted, by many fans and other musicians - including Alice Cooper - that Pride Tiger bore a resemblance to the classic rock band Thin Lizzy. [5] [6]
As of June 2009, the band had broken up. Froese and Payette went on to open a coffee shop together. [7]

David Andrew Patrick Whiteman is a Canadian musician and songwriter. Forming the Bourbon Tabernacle Choir in Toronto out of high school, he eventually left the band in 1993 after eight years. Whiteman went on to record Fear of Zen in 1995 with the band Que Vida! Whiteman fronts the band Apostle of Hustle with bassist Julian Brown and drummer Dean Stone.

Charles Randall "Randy" Murray is a Canadian guitarist, and was a long-serving member of Bachman–Turner Overdrive. From 1989 to 1992 he taught music, did custom recordings and held a radio talk show in Prince George, British Columbia. From the late 1970s to 1989, Murray was a fixture on the B.C./Alberta music scene. He was a member of the BTO line-up that was fronted by Tim Bachman while there were two versions of the group in the late 1980s, and again from 1991 until 2005, making this line-up the longest enduring of all the various Bachman-Turner Overdrive,B.T.O. and BTO incarnations. He currently works as the Communications Officer for the Diocese of New Westminster in Vancouver, teaches guitar in Vancouver, and still plays occasional shows.

Advance and Vanquish is the second studio album by Canadian heavy metal band 3 Inches of Blood. It was released on September 28, 2004, and was their first release by Roadrunner Records. It is the only release by the band to feature bassist and drummer Brian Redman and Matt Wood respectively, and the last to feature original guitarists Sunny Dhak and Bobby Froese who later went on to reform their previous band Pride Tiger. The cover art was illustrated by Edward Repka who has also designed album covers for such acclaimed bands as Megadeth and Death.

Lindy Vopnfjörð, previously credited as Lindy, is a Canadian singer-songwriter, who has performed both as a solo artist and as a member of several bands. After singing in an Icelandic folk group as a child, he co-founded the folk-rock group Northern Junk with his brother in the early 1990s, developing a following in Victoria, British Columbia He later released several solo albums while living in Toronto, and also was a member of the indie rock band Major Maker, whose single "Rollercoaster" charted on Billboard's Canadian Hot 100 chart. His 2013 solo album, Young Waverer, had several singles chart on CBC Radio's Radio 2 Top 20 and R3-30 charts. Currently based in Hamilton, Ontario, as of 2014 he continues to tour and perform live.
