In the Pakistani Province of Sindh, the CM (Chief Minister) Secretariat is headed by the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister (PSCM).
The PSCM advises and assists the Chief Minister on all the official business routed through the CM Office, and because of this the PSCM is the most crucial aide to the Chief Minister. The current PSCM is Sajid Jamal Abro, an Officer of the Secretariat Service and a BPS-20 since August 2018. [1]

Syed Qaim Daim Ali Shah is a Pakistani politician who served as the elected Chief Minister of Sindh for three terms. His last two terms combined, a total of eight years, makes him the longest serving Chief Minister of Sindh. He is Sindh President of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and an elected Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) from PS-220 (Khairpur-1).
The Pakistan Administrative Service, or PAS is an elite cadre of the Civil Services of Pakistan. The Pakistan Administrative Service over the years has emerged as the most consolidated and developed post-colonial institution in Pakistan, with the PAS officers of Grade 22 often seen as stronger than the federal government ministers. The service of PAS is generalist in nature and officers are assigned to different departments all across Pakistan during the course of their careers. All of them report to the DG Health Sindh BPS-20 who is the Highest and the most Powerful Officer after the Secretary Health. The DG Health Office Sindh is regarded as one of the most prestigious and the most important offices in the History of Pakistan. It has always been an important office since the Creation of Pakistan (1947). The DG Health is equal to the Secretary Health himself. The Chief Secretary himself appoints the DG Health in-consultation with the Chief Minister ; This shows that the Secretary Health is not powerful enough to appoint the DG Health but the Chief Secretary himself appoints the DG Health as it is a post that is equivalent to the Secretary of the Department. Also the Removal-and-Appointment Power of the DG Health also belongs to the Chief Minister Sindh. The current DG Health is Dr.Juman Bahoto who has a service of nearly 30 years as a Medical Officer (BPS-17) to Senior Medical Officer (BPS-18) to Chief Medical Officer (BPS-19) to DHO (BPS-20) and Director (BPS-20) and MS Civil Hospital (BPS-20) to the DG Health (BPS-20).
Allah Dino Khawaja is a Pakistani police officer who serves in BPS-22 grade as the Commandant of the National Police Academy. Khawaja is batchmates with prominent bureaucrats namely Fawad Hasan Fawad (PAS), Rizwan Ahmed (PAS), Sikandar Sultan Raja (PAS) and Hussain Asghar (PSP).

The position of Chief Secretary is equivalent to the rank of Federal Secretary and the position holder belongs to the Pakistan Administrative Service. The current Chief Secretary Sindh is Sohail Rajput, in office since 17 April 2022.
Sikandar Sultan Raja is a retired Pakistani civil servant who serves as the Chief Election Commissioner in office since January 2020. He belongs to the Pakistan Administrative Service and is batchmates with Rizwan Ahmed, Hussain Asghar, Fawad Hasan Fawad and Jawad Rafique Malik.
Fazal-ur-Rehman is a retired Pakistani bureaucrat who served in BPS-22 grade as Maritime Secretary of Pakistan, Chief Secretary Sindh and Chairman Trading Corporation of Pakistan. Fazal also served as the Chief Minister of Sindh from June 2018 to August 2018 in a caretaker capacity.
Grade 22 is the highest attainable rank for a Civil Servant in Pakistan. Grade 22 is equal to a 4-star rank of the Pakistan Armed Forces. With over five hundred thousand civil servants and bureaucrats in Pakistan, only a few dozen officers serve in BPS-22 grade at a given time. Hence, not even 2% of the country's civil servants and/or bureaucrats make it to the highest rank. Officers serving in BPS-22 grade are largely considered to be the most influential individuals in the country.
Iqbal Hussain Durrani is a retired Pakistani civil servant who served in BPS-22 grade as the National Security Secretary of Pakistan. Durrani belongs to the Pakistan Administrative Service and is the son-in-law of former Chief Minister of Sindh, Qaim Ali Shah. History was made when Prime Minister Imran Khan in 2019 promoted both Durrani as well as his wife, Pakistan Administrative Service officer Naheed Shah Durrani, to grade 22; as it was the first time in the country's bureaucratic history that both husband and wife were promoted together to the elite rank of Federal Secretary.
Maj (r) Azam Suleman Khan is a retired Pakistani civil servant who serves as the Provincial Ombudsman of Punjab. He previously served in BPS-22 grade as the Interior Secretary of Pakistan, Chief Secretary Punjab and as Chief Secretary Sindh. Khan was promoted to the rank of Federal Secretary in February 2017 by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Muhammad Sualeh Ahmad Faruqi is a Pakistani civil servant who serves in BPS-22 grade, the highest attainable rank for a civil servant, as the Commerce Secretary of Pakistan, in office since July 2020. Faruqi belongs to the Pakistan Administrative Service and was promoted to the rank of Federal Secretary in June 2020. He hails from Sindh and holds a master's degree from the London School of Economics.
