Profound Lore Records is a Canadian independent record label founded in May 2004. The label is known for publishing extreme metal and experimental artists. [1] [2]

It "began as the 'hobby-like venture' of a few friends but, over the past six years, the label has evolved into a one-man enterprise, shaped a distinct 'aesthetic identity' and provided owner Chris Bruni with a full-time job." [3] Notable artists who have published their work by the label include Agalloch and Bell Witch. [4] [5]

The label has been described as having imbued brand loyalty to some fans. [6] The label received criticism from The A.V. Club for distributing National Socialist black metal artists. [7]
