Project Marathwada is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language drama film, made by the producer-director duo of Prakash Patel and Bhavin Wadia, [1] along with Niraj Laxmikant Patel, Praful Patel, Sandip Patil, Sadiya Khan and Bhavin Wadia as co-producer. The film is based on the issue of farmer suicides in India [2] and stars Om Puri as a distressed farmer, Tukaram. [3]

The film also stars Govind Namdeo, Dalip Tahil, Kunal Seth, Seema Biswas, Rahul Patel, and Farrah Kader. [4] It follows the story of a Marathwada-based indebted farmer, who comes to Mumbai hoping for help from the government after his son commits suicide. The story takes a twist when he comes across four college students making a documentary on the same subject. [5] The first look of the film was released on 22 September 2015. [6]

The story follows Om Prakash Makhija (Khan), an obscure 1970s actor, who dies in a suspicious on-set fire involving his crush, well-known yesteryears superstar Shanti Priya (Padukone), and is reincarnated in the present day as superstar Om Kapoor, seeking to exact revenge on the perpretrator, Shanti's husband and powerful producer Mukesh Mehra (Rampal).

Mela is a 1948 Indian Hindi-language romantic tragedy film. It was produced by and directed by S.U. Sunny for Wadia Movietone. It starred Dilip Kumar, Nargis, Jeevan, Rehman and Nur Jehan. The film's music was composed by Naushad. Mukesh gave playback for Dilip in this film and one of the "Mukesh hits" was "Gaye Ja Geet Milan Ke". Mohammed Rafi's voice was used just once, for the popular song "Ye Zindagi Ke Mele", set in a fairground and picturised on a wandering mendicant at the start of the film. The lyrics of the songs were written by Shakeel Badayuni with story and dialogue by Azam Bazidpuri.

Heartless is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language medical thriller film directed by Shekhar Suman. Shekhar Suman also stars in the film along with his son Adhyayan Suman. The film also features Ariana Ayam, Deepti Naval, Om Puri and Madan Jain amongst others. It released on 7 February 2014, to mixed reviews from critics. The film focuses on anaesthesia awareness, where a patient cannot move or communicate, but is aware to varying degrees of what is happening during surgical procedures. Several critics have noticed striking similarities between the film and the 2007 Hollywood medical thriller Awake, leading some to describe Heartless a copy of said film.

Mayur Puri is an Indian screenwriter, lyricist, actor and film-maker working in Mumbai. His film songwriting and dialogue work includes Farah Khan-directed films Om Shanti Om (2007), and Happy New Year (2014), as well as the 3D dance franchise ABCD: Any Body Can Dance and ABCD: Any Body Can Dance 2. He directed his first short film, Firdaws, in 2017.
