The second season of the Singaporean reality talent show Project SuperStar began on 8 November 2006 on MediaCorp Channel U. The show is hosted by Quan Yi Fong and Jeff Wang. The overall winner received talent management contracts with Warner Music Singapore and MediaCorp. Billy Koh, Lee Wei Song, Roy Loi, Anthony Png and Dawn Yip returned as judges for their second season.

On 4 February 2007, winner of the male category Daren Tan was announced as the overall winner of the season, with female category winner Lydia Tan as the overall runner-up. Tan was also the first previously eliminated contestant on Project SuperStar to win the competition.

The competition also introduced to Jeremy Chan who would later become a full-time Mediacorp actor, runner-up Tan and Carrie Yeo would later form into a duo band The Freshmen, [1] and Kelvin Soon, a prominent singer-songwriter. [2]

Development

Season 2 was broadcast from 8 November 2006 to 4 February 2007. When the auditions are launched in early September, over 6,000 aspirants came to audition, breaking the record of all star-searching contests in Singapore.[ citation needed ]

The finalist were announced on an unknown date. Singer-songwriter Tay Kewei was originally selected as one of the final 24 finalists, but was later disqualified due to contractual violation. She was replaced by Sheila Ou, a contestant who was originally eliminated in the round three auditions.[ citation needed ]

The eight contestants who were eliminated from the third and fourth quarter-finals returned to the stage to perform for the revival round. The contestant who received the highest combined score from either the male and female categories would be reinstated from the competition.

<i>StarStruck</i> (season 2) season of television series

The second season of StarStruck, is a Philippine television reality talent competition show, was broadcast on GMA Network. Hosted by Dingdong Dantes with the StarStruck Kids host, Jolina Magdangal, it premiered on October 11, 2004. The council was composed of Joey de Leon, Christopher de Leon and Louie Ignacio. There were slight changes made in the Council, Joyce Bernal was replaced by Louie Ignacio. The season ended with 96 episodes on February 20, 2005, having Mike Tan and Ryza Cenon as the Ultimate Survivors.

Idol: Jakten på en superstjerne 2007 was the fifth season of Idol Norway based on the British singing competition Pop Idol. In difference to other seasons it was aired in the second half of the year running from September to December 2007.
After a two-year absence Jan Fredrik Karlsen returned to the judging panel as the foreperson. He was joined by Asbjørn Slettemark, Benedicte Adrian and Mariann Thomassen. Also the two hosts were new to the show in person of Marte Stokstad and Kyrre Holm Johannessen.
The Age limit to audition was raised from 28 to 35. Eventual winner Glenn Lyse profited from that rule as he was 33 at the time of his win which also made him the oldest winner of the Idol series worldwide. Lyse beat Bjørn Johan Muri, who was half his age (17), at the final with 56%. However, in a long run the runner-up once again proved to be more successful: In 2010, Muri took part in the Norwegian qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, with the song "Yes Man". Here he qualified for the final, where he finished fourth overall. Despite that, the single still became a #1 hit in Norway.

<i>X Factor</i> (Armenian TV series)

X-Factor is the Armenian version of The X Factor, a show originating in the United Kingdom. It is a televised music talent show contested by aspiring pop singers drawn from public auditions in Armenia and the Armenian diaspora. The show in its inaugural year was broadcast on the Armenian Shant TV station, the same station that broadcasts the Armenian Idol series Hay Superstar.

<i>Faktor A</i>

Faktor A is the second Russian version of The X Factor television talent show franchise. Having broadcast on Rossiya 1from 2011 to 2013, the show is named Faktor A, with the letter "A" chosen in honor of Alla Pugacheva, head of the jury. Faktor A debuted in 2011 as a new season 1.

Robby Purba resumes his role as the host of the show alongside returning judges Ahmad Dhani, Rossa, and Bebi Romeo, while Anggun is replaced by Afgan due to her new commitment as a judge for Asia's Got Talent The competition was won by Jebe & Petty and Rossa emerged as the winning mentor for the second time.

The third season of the Singaporean reality talent show Project SuperStar began on 18 August 2014. It was broadcast on MediaCorp Channel U and simulcast on Toggle Live. The show was hosted by Dasmond Koh, with Jeremy Chan and Shane Pow acting as managers for the contestants. Roy Li and Dawn Yip returned as judges for their third season, and they were joined by Eric Ng who appeared as a judge for the first time. Taiwanese singer Tiger Huang and former judge Lee Wei Song served as the guest judges at the grand final.

Super Singer JuniorIthu Thamizhagathin Chellakuralukkana Thedal – is a reality TV show since 2007 hosted by Vijay TV, a popular Tamil channel of the Star Network, and sponsored by Bharti Airtel. It is a singing talent hunt for the children of age group 6–14. This is the junior version of the Super Singer show, which premiered in 2006. Auditions are held in various parts of Tamil Nadu, India. The show attracts many kids from all over the state and rigorous multi-level selection procedures are done in order to select the contestants for the competition.

<i>SPOP Sing!</i> (season 1) Season of television series

SPOP Sing! is a Chinese singing reality competition broadcast by MediaCorp Channel 8. Season 1 premiered on 9 August after the broadcast of National Day Parade and ended on the live finale on 4 November at Padang.

X Factor Malta is the Maltese version of the British television music competition The X Factor, created by Simon Cowell. The first season premiered on 7 October 2018 and has since been broadcast on Television Malta. The show has been a platform for the selection as the winner became the representative of Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. In July 2020, it had been announced that the show would be replaced by Malta's Got Talent, but after a one-year hiatus, a third series began in October 2021.
