Provo College is a private for-profit college focused on health care programs and located in Provo, Utah.
What is now Provo College opened in 1984 under the name of Dental Careers Institute. Its name changed to Advanced Careers Institute and finally, in December 1989, it was named Provo College. The name change reflected the broadened scope of the college with the addition of curriculum in court reporting and medical transcription.
In April 1992, the school was acquired by the Center for Professional Studies, Inc. and relocated to its current location. During 1996 and 1997, the college expanded its offerings and added the Associate of Applied Science degree to all its programs. Subsequently, in 2005, Provo College was granted approval from ACCSC to change its degree offering from Associate of Applied Science to Associate of Science. Bachelor's degrees were added in 2013.
An associate degree is an undergraduate degree awarded after a course of post-secondary study lasting two to three years. It is a level of qualification between a high school diploma, GED, and a bachelor's degree.
Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology is a private college in East Elmhurst, New York, specialized in aviation and engineering education. Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Minneapolis/Saint Paul was founded in 1999. The college is owned by Career Education Corporation under a licensing agreement with Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. The school is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). Located in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, the school offers Associate in Applied Science degrees in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts and Le Cordon Bleu Patisserie & Baking and a Certificate Program in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts. All US Le Cordon Bleu College locations are scheduled to close in 2017.
