Puck Deventer was founded as "Damesvoetbalvereniging Puck" (ladies football club Puck). The club was unusual because it only fielded women's teams. It won the national title in 1982, [1] when it won the play-off competition between six regional champions. In the 1980s and 1990s Puck belonged to the top in Dutch women's football. In 2000 it was dissolved [2] and was absolved into the Koninklijke UD.
The KNVB Women's Cup is the cup competition for women's football in the Netherlands. The competition was established in 1980, along with the KNVB Amateur Cup.
The Vrouwen Eredivisie, also known as the Pure Energie Eredivisie Vrouwen due to a sponsor contract until the 2023–2024 season, is the highest professional women's football league in the Netherlands. Organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) it was established in 2007 and then played for five seasons until 2012 when the leagues of the Netherlands and Belgium merged forming a single combined league. After three seasons the BeNe League folded and the Eredivisie was restarted in the 2015–16 season. The league winner receives a spot in the UEFA Women's Champions League.
Kirsten Johanna Maria van de Ven is a former Dutch professional footballer. Prior to her professional career, she played College soccer in the United States. Professionally she played in the Dutch league (Eredivisie) for Willem II Tilburg and FC Twente, and in the Swedish league (Damallsvenskan) for Tyresö FF and FC Rosengård. She won titles at clubs in both Sweden and the Netherlands, as an international player she was a member of the Netherlands women's national football team, and represented her country at the 2009 and 2013 editions of the UEFA Women's Championship, and the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.
