Puerto Rico Highway 52 (PR-52), a major toll road in Puerto Rico, is also known as Autopista Luis A. Ferré. It was formerly called Expreso Las Américas. It runs from PR-1 in southwest Río Piedras and heads south until it intersects with highway PR-2 in Ponce. At its north end, the short PR-18 continues north from PR-52 towards San Juan. This short segment is known as Expreso Las Américas, the only segment of the route still unofficially bearing this name, since PR-18 is officially named Roberto Sánchez Vilella Expressway. The combined route of PR-18 and PR-52 runs concurrent with the unsigned Interstate Highway PRI-1. Toll stations are located in San Juan, Caguas, Salinas, Juana Díaz, and Ponce.
Puerto Rico Highway 30 (PR-30), known as Expreso Cruz Ortiz Stella, is a main freeway in Puerto Rico which connects the city of Caguas to the town of Humacao.
Puerto Rico Highway 3(PR-3) at nearly 100 miles long, is the second-longest highway on Puerto Rico. It connects the San Juan neighborhood of Río Piedras to downtown Salinas indirectly around the eastern coast of the island. Highway 3 ranges from a three lane urban avenue in San Juan to a one lane rural road past Fajardo. While other roads connect San Juan, it runs the coastline of Puerto Rico east of San Juan, beginning in Río Piedras near Santurce and goes to Fajardo where it goes south paralleling the coastline to Humacao and Maunabo. It goes up to a mountain-scenic route and goes west to Salinas, where it meets PR-1.
Puerto Rico Highway 53 (PR-53) or unsigned Interstate PR3 is a main tollway that is parallel to Puerto Rico Highway 3, which goes from Fajardo to Salinas. Some segments are still in planning, but when finished it will be about 58 miles (93 km) in length. Two tunnels, about 0.6 mi (1 km) long each, in the towns of Yabucoa and Maunabo were completed in October 2008. It will connect the cities of Fajardo, Ceiba, Naguabo, Humacao, Yabucoa, Maunabo, Patillas, Arroyo, Guayama and Salinas, thus bordering the entire eastern and southeastern coasts of Puerto Rico. Its northern terminus is at PR-3 and PR-194 in Fajardo, and its south terminus is at PR-52 in Salinas.
Puerto Rico Highway 115 (PR-115) is a highway which follows the west coastline of Puerto Rico from south Añasco at PR-2 to near downtown Aguadilla, where it becomes Puerto Rico Highway 111 after intersecting PR-2 again, and is the primary route to the town of Rincón, Puerto Rico, a tourist and frequent destination of surfers.
Puerto Rico Highway 116 (PR-116) is a main highway in the southwest part of Puerto Rico, beginning in Guánica, Puerto Rico at Puerto Rico Highway 2 to Lajas, Puerto Rico at Puerto Rico Highway 101.
Puerto Rico Highway 181 (PR-181), also known as Expreso Trujillo Alto, is a road that connects the towns of San Juan, Puerto Rico in the north/northeast coast of Puerto Rico with Patillas in the southeast, passing through the municipalities of San Juan at Jesus de Piñero Avenue (PR-17) as it approaches the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge and the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, Trujillo Alto, Gurabo, San Lorenzo, Yabucoa and Patillas in the center of the town district near PR-3. Along with PR-10, PR-149, PR-1 and PR-52, it is one of the longest highways crossing the island from north to south through the central mountainous region. In the north part of Trujillo Alto it is a four-lane highway, turning completely rural on the way to Patillas with the exception of a small tract in Gurabo where it intersects PR-30.
Puerto Rico Highway 31 (PR-31) is a main, rural highway connecting Juncos at Puerto Rico Highway 198 to Naguabo at Puerto Rico Highway 3.
Puerto Rico Highway 14 (PR-14) is a main highway connecting Ponce to Cayey, Puerto Rico. The road runs the same course as the historic Carretera Central. The Ponce-to-Coamo section of PR-14 was built under the direction of Spanish engineer Raimundo Camprubí Escudero.
Puerto Rico Highway 901 (PR-901) is a highway in the southeast coast of Puerto Rico which begins at its junction with PR-182 in Yabucoa and ends at its intersection with PR-760 in Manuabo.
Puerto Rico Highway 172 (PR-172) is a secondary highway that connects Caguas, Puerto Rico at PR-1 to downtown Cidra, Puerto Rico and continues its way to its end at Puerto Rico Road 156 in Comerío, Puerto Rico. It is a two-lane per direction road from Caguas to its border point to Cidra and rural all the way to Comerío.
Puerto Rico Highway 129 (PR-129) is a north–south highway in North-Central Puerto Rico, connecting the town of Lares with Arecibo. It crosses the northern karst country of the island. When traveling from the northern coast of Puerto Rico, PR-129 can be used to reach the Arecibo Observatory and the Camuy River Caverns Park.
Puerto Rico Highway 156 (PR-156) is a long east–west highway which connects Caguas to Orocovis, passing through Aguas Buenas, Comerío and Barranquitas. This route extends from its junction with PR-1 in downtown Caguas to PR-5155 in downtown Orocovis.
Puerto Rico Highway 185 (PR-185) is a main highway that connects Canóvanas, Puerto Rico to Juncos, Puerto Rico and is about 25 kilometers long. It begins in downtown of Canóvanas, very close to Puerto Rico Highway 3 and ends in Puerto Rico Highway 952 and Puerto Rico Highway 30 in Juncos.
Puerto Rico Highway 198 (PR-198) is a 15-kilometre-long (9 mi) highway that parallels Puerto Rico Highway 30 from Juncos, Puerto Rico, to Humacao, Puerto Rico, where it ends at Puerto Rico Highway 3. Like Puerto Rico Highway 189, it passes through the business centers of Juncos, Las Piedras and Humacao.
Puerto Rico Highway 183 (PR-183) is a main highway which begins in the downtown/business area of Caguas, near Puerto Rico Highway 1 and ends in Puerto Rico Highway 198 in Las Piedras. Measuring near 25 kilometers, it is real rural parallel road of Puerto Rico Highway 30, though it goes significantly south of the latter and the only municipality it does not go through which PR-30 does in Humacao.
Puerto Rico Highway 165 (PR-165) is the road that goes from Naranjito to Guaynabo. The highway passes by Toa Alta, Toa Baja, Dorado, Levittown, Cataño and Guaynabo.
Puerto Rico Highway 142 (PR-142) is a north–south road that connects the northern region of Puerto Rico with the municipality of Corozal. With a length of about 8.2 kilometers (5.1 mi), PR-142 crosses the municipalities of Dorado, Toa Alta and Corozal, extending from PR-2 in Dorado to PR-159 near downtown Corozal.
Puerto Rico Highway 182 (PR-182) is a primary road located entirely within the municipality of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. The road has its northern terminus at its intersection with Puerto Rico Highway 181 in the northwestern end of the town, near San Lorenzo, and its southern terminus in downtown Yabucoa, near PR-9910 and PR-3, where it provides access to many municipal government offices.
Puerto Rico Highway 723 (PR-723) is a rural road that goes from the municipality of Aibonito to southern Barranquitas via northeastern Coamo, Puerto Rico. With a length of 9.6 kilometers (6.0 mi), it begins at its intersection with PR-14 on the Pasto–Asomante line, passing through Pulguillas barrio until its end at its junction with PR-143 on the Coamo–Barranquitas municipal line.
