Robinhood and the official national stadium of the Suriname national football team. With an official capacity of 7,100, it is the largest stadium in Suriname.

The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June of the next year, with teams playing 30 games in the regular season. The league was known as the Hoofdklasse but became Topklasse beginning with the 2016–17 season, and then from the 2017–18 season forward, the Eerste Divisie.

The 2004 Michigan Wolverines football team represented the University of Michigan during the 2004 NCAA Division I-A football season. The team's head football coach was Lloyd Carr. The Wolverines played their home games at Michigan Stadium. The team finished the season with an overall record 9–3 and a mark of 7–1 in Big Ten Conference play, winning its second consecutive conference title. They would not win another one until 2021. Michigan concluded the season with a loss to Texas in the Rose Bowl.

Paloemeu or Palumeu is an Amerindian village in the interior of Suriname, situated at the site where the Paloemeu River joins the Tapanahoni River. Most inhabitants of the village are native Tiriyó Amerindians. The remainder belongs to the Wayana, and Aparai tribes. The Bosatlas in 1968 identified the village as Pepejoe which was incorrect according to the New West Indian Guide.

Leo Schipper was a Surinamese football manager and player who played for NAKS, SV Transvaal, SV Robinhood and the Suriname national team. After his playing career he took on a coaching role with SV Robinhood, becoming manager of the club before passing the torch to Ronald Kolf.
