Purple on Time is the fifth album by U.S. Maple. It was released on November 4, 2003 on Drag City.
According to singer Al Johnson, the album's title is meant to elicit connotations of emotion, as, to him, purple is an emotional color. The "on time" aspect of the title is meant to evoke sexual associations related to climax. Al Johnson describes the records as a "love record," and contends that the band intended to make an album of love songs, but their intention went unnoticed.
Prince Rogers Nelson was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. Joseph Satriani is an American rock guitarist, composer, songwriter, and guitar instructor. Total Abandon: Australia '99 is a double live album and DVD by British hard rock band Deep Purple, recorded at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Australia on 20 April 1999. When the album was released in September 1999, it was only available in Australia. From 12 October 1999, it was made available as a mail order merchandise in Europe. Later, it was also sold in music stores. In USA, the album was not released until 2012; this edition was cut to only one disc.

Described as "one of the most popular instrumental rock and soul songs ever" and as one of "the most popular R&B instrumentals of its era", the tune is a twelve-bar blues with a rippling Hammond M3 organ line by Booker T. Jones that he wrote when he was 17, although the actual recording was largely improvised in the studio.
Aretha is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Aretha Franklin, released on February 27, 1961, by Columbia Records. It features the Ray Bryant Combo. The album is Aretha's first release for Columbia, and is also known under its working title Right Now It's Aretha. Following in the footsteps of her close friend Sam Cooke, Aretha was "discovered" by famed Columbia Records producer John H. Hammond, who on the liner notes of the 1973 edition of "The Great Aretha Franklin: The First 12 Sides" mentions that she was in fact recommended by the composer Curtis Reginald Lewis. With the support of her father, Reverend C.L. Franklin, Aretha traveled to New York City's Columbia Record Studios to record her debut album for the label. Hammond paired Aretha Franklin with Ray Bryant and arranger J. Leslie McFarland, while taking charge of the album's production, which received mixed reviews.

After recording a debut single, they recorded the album in late 1995 at the Solid Sound Studios in Illinois with producer Jim O'Rourke. It was O'Rourke's first recording session with a rock band.
