Hossein Rezazadeh is an Iranian politician and retired weightlifter. Rezazadeh is a two-time Olympic champion, four-time World Weightlifting champion, and five-time Asian champion. Rezazadeh has won the Iran Sportsperson of the Year award four times, more than any other athlete in the country's history. Rezazadeh is widely considered one of the greatest weightlifters of all time.

Karnali Province is one of the seven federal provinces of Nepal formed by the new constitution which was adopted on 20 September 2015. The 2019 South Asian Games, officially the XIII South Asian Games, was a major multi-sport event which was originally slated to be held from 9 to 18 March 2019 in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal. However, the dates were postponed and the event was held from 1–10 December 2019, coincidentally at the same time as the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. The new dates were confirmed at the South Asian Olympic Council Executive Board meeting in Bangkok on 1 March 2019. The Dasarath Stadium hosted the opening ceremony along with the men's football tournament, with the stadium's renovation after the 2015 earthquake completed in under 10 months with an increased capacity of 20,000, along with the closing ceremony on 10 December.
The Provincial Assembly of Karnali Province also known as the Karnali Pradesh Sabha, is a unicameral governing and law making body of Karnali Province, one of the seven provinces in Nepal The assembly is seated in the provincial capital at Birendranagar in Surkhet District at the Irrigation Division Office. The assembly has 40 members of whom 24 are elected through first-past-the-post voting and 16 are elected through proportional representation. The term of the assembly is 5 years unless dissolved earlier.
Arshad Nadeem is a Pakistani athlete specialising in the javelin throw. He represents WAPDA in domestic competition. In Dec 2019, he established a new South Asian Games record in Javelin throw with a distance of 86.29 m, thus securing direct qualification to 2020 Summer Olympics, making him the country's only track-and-field athlete to qualify directly for the Olympics and the first Pakistani individual overall to qualify for the final of any track-and-field event at the Olympic Games.

The 1995 South Asian Gold Cup is an international football tournament held in India from 25 March to 2 April 1995. The five national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of 23 players, including three goalkeepers. Only players in these squads were eligible to take part in the tournament.
