Páll áReynatúgvu (born 26 July 1967 in Tórshavn) is a Faroese politician,and former football player,currently serving as speaker of the Faroese Parliament. [1] He was first elected in 1998,and again in 2002,when he assumed the position of Minister of Health and Social Affairs. After being re-elected in 2004,he became a member of the "Fíggjarnevndin" (Financial Committee of the Løgting). [2]
At the 2008 parliamentary elections áReynatúgvu was not re-elected,but sat in parliament when Anita áFríðriksmørk took maternity leave,and as his party was a part of the Landsstýri,he was next on the list to get a seat in the parliament. [3] Before Páll áReynatúgvu was elected for the Løgting in 2011,he was president of the SEV,which provides the Faroe Islands with electricity. He had to quit this job,because the Faroese law does not allow a person to be a member of the Løgting and at the same time to be a member of a governmental owned institution or company. [4]
Páll áReynatúgvu played for many years as a midfielder for his local football club,B71 Sandur. [5] For a few seasons,he also served as the team's captain. With his club,he won the Faroese League in 1989 and Faroese Cup 1993.
In 1993 Páll áReynatúgvu played 5 matches for the Faroe Islands national football team, [6] four of which were 1994 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with one friendly match. [7] In 1996/97 Páll áReynatúgvu played two matches with B71 Sandur against APOEL Nicosia from Cyprus in the Champions League. Apoel Nicosia won both matches,but in the away match B71 took a 2-1 lead with goals from Eli Hentze and Páll áReynatúgvu. APOEL F.C. won the match 4-2. [8]

The Faroe Islands women's national football team represents the Faroe Islands in women's association football and is controlled by the Faroe Islands Football Association (FSF),the governing body of all football in the Faroe Islands. The FSF became a member of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) in 1988 and Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in 1990. By population,it remains the fourth smallest member of UEFA,which encompasses the countries of Europe. SEV is a power producer and distributor on the Faroe Islands. The company name is derived from the names of islands Streymoy,Eysturoy and Vágar,which established the company on 1 October 1946. All municipalities in Vágar,all in Eysturoy except for Sjóvar municipality and all municipalities in Streymoy except for Tórshavn,Kvívík and Kollafjørður met at the first establishing meeting. Later all municipalities in the Faroe Islands joined SEV. In 2015 60% of the produced electricity of SEV came from green energy sources,17,8% came from the windmills in Neshagi and Húsahagi,42,3% came was hydropower.
Kaj Leo Holm Johannesen is a Faroese politician. He was the prime minister of the Faroe Islands,representing the Faroese Unionist Party (Sambandsflokkurin). He took office,succeeding Jóannes Eidesgaard on 26 September 2008 and left office on 15 September 2015,after his party and coalition with Fólkaflokkurin and Miðflokkurin lost the general election on 1 September 2015. Johannesen is also a former international football player;he was goalkeeper for the Faroe Islands national football team.

Fróði Benjaminsen is a Faroese international footballer who plays as a defender or midfielder for Skála ÍF. Benjaminsen previously played for HB Tórshavn,B68 Toftir,Fram Reykjavík and B36 Tórshavn. He has appeared a record number of times for the Faroe Islands,and captained the national team since 2008. In 2015,he retired from the national team,but continued to play for HB Tórshavn in 2016. On 16 August 2016,Benjaminsen came out of international retirement,and was included in the Faroe Islands squad against Hungary in the FIFA World Cup 2018 qualification.

Hon won the Faroese championship in the men's badminton two times in 1993 and 1994 and the Faroese championship in the Faroe Islands Premier League six times. He has also won the Faroese championship in handball with Kyndil as a goal keeper in 1994 and 1996. Hans áLag used to have another lastname,which was Jacobsen.

Olsen is also a former football player,he mostly played as a forward,but sometimes he played as a midfielder and sometimes as a defender. He is married to SiriðStenberg,who is member of the Faroese parliament (Løgting).
Jógvan áLakjuni is a Faroese politician,composer and teacher. He was speaker of the Faroese parliament,the Løgting,from 2011 to 2015 and from 2019 to 2022. He worked as a fisherman from 1969 to 1972. He was educated as a school teacher in 1977,and worked as a school teacher in Fuglafjørður from 1977 to 1989. During this period he also studied at the University of the Faroe Islands and since 1989 has worked as a high school teacher at Føroya Handilsskúli in Kambsdalur.
Aksel Vilhelmsson Johannesen is a Faroese lawyer and politician for the Social Democratic Party (Javnaðarflokkurin) and the current prime minister of the Faroe Islands and also served as prime minister from 2015 to 2019. He is a former footballer.
Brandur Sandoy is a Faroese politician,sheep farmer and businessman. His surname is the same as the name of the island Sandoy,where he lives. He runs a sheep farm in Inni íDal between Sandur and Skopun,near the school and football stadium of B71 Sandoy. He also runs a small business named BS-Smíðand rents a holiday home together with his wife Anja Sandoy,with whom he has three children:Várdis,Pauli and Pál. He is a former football player,he played for B71 Sandoy in the 1990s.
SiriðStenberg is a Faroese politician. She finished her education as a nurse in 1994 and as a nurse in neonatalalogy in 1998 and as a nurse with special knowledge of children from 0-7. Since 2001 she has worked in the children's health care in Suðuroy. She took leave from this employment shortly after assuming office as a member of the Faroese parliament,the parliament is located in Tórshavn,two hours away by ferry from Suðuroy. From 2006-08 she was head master of the Health School of the Faroe Islands,which is located in Suðuroy. She is married to Jón Pauli Olsen,who was football manager of the Faroese women's national football team and social and health assistant,together they have three children.
Poul Johan Sundberg Michelsen is a Faroese business man and former politician. He was the leader of Progress (Framsókn),which he and others established in 2011. Before the establishment of Progress,he was a member of People's Party (Fólkaflokkurin). In March 2020 he chose to leave the Parliament and ending his political career after struggling with sequelae of a stroke for some months.
Bára Skaale Klakstein is a Faroese football coach and former defender. She was a member of the Faroe Islands women's national team between 1996 and 2013,winning 20 caps. She is the mother of fellow Faroe Islands international player Eyðvør Klakstein and they played together in the senior national team in 2012 and 2013. They became the first parent-offspring combination to play together in a national team in football. The Faroe Islands Football Association (FSF) has described Klakstein as one of the most important figures in the history of Faroese women's football.
