Qambar, is the headquarter of the Qambar Shahdadkot District of Sindh. It has a district court and district level government offices. The town is also famous due to a large following of the living saint Saien Hussain Shah.

History

Qamber town was part of Larkana District until December 2004 when the Sindh government announced the creation of a new district and made it the capital of the new Qambar-Shahdad Kot District. [1]

Shahdadkot is the most populated and largest Tehsil of Qambar Shahdadkot District of Sindh, Pakistan. It was named after the town founder Shahdad Khan Khuhawar. It is located around 51 kilometres northwest of Larkana and 34 kilometers north of Qambar. The town is in close proximity to three districts of Balochistan namely Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi and Jaffarabad in the west and north of the district. It is linked on the M8 motorway route between Gwadar and Ratodero.

Mirokhan is one of the oldest tehsils situated in Qambar Shahdadkot District of Sindh province of Pakistan. It was established in 1915 and was considered to be the largest tehsil by area before the division of the Larkana district into Larkana and Qambar-Shahdadkot districts, its own division into Mirokhan and Sijawal tehsils.

Drigh Lake is situated in Qambar Shahdadkot District in Sindh, Pakistan, 29 kilometres (18 mi) from Larkana city and 7 kilometres (4 mi) from Qambar town. It has a surface area of 408 acres (165 ha) and the running length of the lake from North to South is about 5.64 Miles. Formed in the floods of 1814, 1815 and 1817.

Hamal Lake is situated in Qambar Shahdadkot District in Sindh, Pakistan, 58 km from Larkana city and 40 km from Qambar town. The length of the lake is 25 km and the width is 10 km and has a surface area of 2965 acres . It is a fresh water lake and the main source of water are the streams comes through from Kirthar Mountains.

It was abolished in the 2018 delimitation after the overlap between the constituencies of Larkana District and Qambar Shahdadkot District was undone. Now the two districts have separate constituencies: NA-200 (Larkana-I), NA-201 (Larkana-II), NA-202, and NA-203. And the area of the former NA-204 is divided between NA-200 and NA-201.

Now the two districts have separate constituencies: NA-200 (Larkana-I), NA-201 (Larkana-II), NA-202, and NA-203. And the Qambar area of the former NA-206 is divided between NA-202 and NA-203.

Constituency NA-207 (Larkana-IV) was a constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan. It was abolished in the 2018 delimitation as this constituency's area encompassed three districts: Larkana, Shikarpur, and Qambar Shadadkot. Now the major area of the constituency, which belonged to Larkana, is included in NA-200 (Larkana-I). The Qambar Shahdadkot area is in NA-202 and the area belonging to Shikarpur is in NA-199 (Shikarpur-II).

Sijawal Junejo is a taluka of Qambar Shahdadkot District, division Larkana, Province of Sindh, Pakistan. It was established in 2004 when district Qambar Shahdadkot District was newly established. Sijawal Old Name was Sujawal Taluka. At the time of British Government Sujawal was taluka from approximately 1876 to 1915 A.D. Later on Sujawal name was changed to Sijawal Junejo in 2000 A.D. Name was suggested by U.C Nazim of that time.

NA-197 is a newly-created constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan. It mainly comprises the Nasirabad Taluka, Warah Taluka, and Qambar Ali Khan Taluka. It was created in the 2018 delimitation after the constituency overlapping between Qambar Shahdadkot District and Larkana District was ended.

The Huqooq-e-Sindh March is an ongoing march against the Sindh Government, started with Sindh Punjab Border Commune Shaheed. PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi inaugurated the march.
