Dr. Qibla Ayaz is the current chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII). [1] [2] [3]
He was born on 6 October 1953 in Bannu,Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,Pakistan.
After earning his Masters in Islamic Studies from the University of Peshawar in 1975,in which he will serve as vice-chancellor later,he got his PhD from the University of Edinburgh in the field of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies in 1985,his unpublished thesis being,in 2 volumes,An unexploited source for the History of the Saljūqs:A translation of and critical commentary on the Akhbār Al-Dawlat Al-Sajūqiyya,under the supervision of Dr Carole Hillenbrand. Darul Uloom Haqqania or Jamia Dar al-Ulum Haqqania is an Islamic Seminary in the town of Akora Khattak,Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province,northwestern Pakistan. The seminary propagates the Hanafi Deobandi school of Sunni Islam. It was founded by Maulana Abdul Haq along the lines of the Darul Uloom Deoband seminary in India,where he had taught. National Rahmatul-lil-Alameen Wa Khatam an-Nabiyyin Authority is an ideological institution of the Government of Pakistan. Set up under the Federal Ministry of Education &Professional Training by the former Prime Minister Imran Khan in October 2021,the first Chairman was Ijaz Akram. The ordinance to set up the authority was promulgated by President Arif Alvi on 13 October 2021. In July 2022,JUI-F former MNA Shahida Akhtar Ali suggest the new name of the authority by adding Khatam an-Nabiyyin,which was endorsed by President of Pakistan,Arif Alvi per suggestion as National Rahmatul-lil-Alameen Wa Khatam an-Nabiyyin Authority formerly National Rahmatul-lil-Alameen Authority.
