The Quebec Bantam Football League (QBFL) is comprised of amateur Canadian Football varsity teams playing in the Greater Montreal Region. The players are aged between 14 and 15 years old. Teams compete in late-summer and fall in an 8-game regular season leading up to a playoff tournament.

The Western Hockey League (WHL) is a major junior ice hockey league based in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. The WHL is one of three leagues that constitutes the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) as the highest level of junior hockey in Canada, alongside the Ontario Hockey League and Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League. Teams play for the Ed Chynoweth Cup, with the winner moving on to play for the Memorial Cup, Canada's national junior championship. WHL teams have won the Memorial Cup 19 times. Many players have been drafted from WHL teams, and have found success at various levels of professional hockey, including the National Hockey League (NHL).

The 1926–27 NHL season was the tenth season of the National Hockey League. The success of the Boston Bruins and the Pittsburgh Pirates led the NHL to expand further within the United States. The league added three new teams: the Chicago Black Hawks, Detroit Cougars, and New York Rangers, to make a total of ten, split in two divisions. This resulted in teams based in Canada being in the minority for the first time. To stock the teams with players the new teams brought in players from the Western Hockey League, which folded in May 1926. This left the NHL in sole possession of hockey's top players, as well as sole control of hockey's top trophy, the Stanley Cup, which was won by the Ottawa Senators. This was the original Senators' eleventh and final Stanley Cup win. The Senators' first was in 1903.
The Western Canada Hockey League (WCHL), founded in 1921, was a major professional ice hockey league originally based in the prairies of Canada. It was renamed the Western Hockey League (WHL) in 1925 and disbanded in 1926.

The Northeast League was a professional independent baseball league that operated in the Northeastern United States from 1995 until 1998 and from 2003 until 2004. This organization was founded in 1967 when the local teams were struggling to find talented kids to play football. Since 1967, this organization has taken part in 35+ provincial championship games and won 37 of them.
The North Shore Cheetahs are a football club and a member of the Quebec Bantam Football League (QBFL). They were founded in 2006 after a proposal was accepted at the QBFL's AGM. The proposed system has both the Cheetahs and the North Shore Lions holding a joint winter evaluation camp. Throughout the camp, the Lions take the more "polished" players and the Cheetahs take the rest. They are a developmental team and the next year, the players have the rights to try out for the Lions once again.

The Quebec Junior Football League (QJFL) is a junior Canadian football competition held in Quebec, Canada since 1970, as a successor to the Quebec Juvenile Football League. It began competition as a conference of the Canadian Junior Football League from which it eventually withdrew. Upon withdrawal from the CJFL, the QJFL incorporated teams from the Ottawa, Ontario region and created the league as it stands today. In one form or another, the QJFL can trace its roots back to 1908. Annually the League awards the regular season champions the Cyril T. White Trophy, and the playoff champions the Joe Pistilli Cup, formerly known as the Manson Cup.

Giulio Zardo is a high performance athlete. In 1996 he was World Junior Champion in powerlifting with the WPF, having set a world record in the deadlift with a 600lbs at a body weight of 208. Giulio went on to play football for four years, where he was league MVP for defence with the League Champion Midget AAA St. Leonard Cougars in 1997, was part of the International football tournament championship team for Canada during the 1999 Super Bowl. Zardo then went on to be an all star and was part of the league champion Champlain Cougars team in CÉGEP AAA in 1999 and 2000.
