The North Shore Lions football organization is currently a member of the QBFL (Quebec Bantam Football League) operating in the West Island of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This organization was founded in 1967 when the local teams were struggling to find talented kids to play football. Since 1967 the North Shore Lions have won 38 provincial championships.
The North Shore Football League plays host to teams for children aged 6–13. The different age groups are Atom (6-9 year olds), Mosquito (10-11 year olds), PeeWee (12-13 year olds), Bantam (14-15 year olds) and Midget (16-17 year olds). The first three (Atom, Mosquito and PeeWee) are hosted through a series of parks. The Bantam Lions play in Quebec Bantam Football League's (QBFL) Bill Allan division which is the Bantam AAA first division. The Midget Mustangs play in Quebec Midget Football League's (QMFL) Bruno Heppell division which is the Midget AAA division.
In the early to mid-1960s, the North Shore Football League was still in its infancy and at the time there were four bantam teams that played amongst themselves in a house-league system. The names that were chosen for these teams were taken from the western teams in the CFL. These were the Eskimos, Stampeders, Bombers, and Lions, who, at the time, were playing their home games at Rive Boisée park. As it was becoming increasingly difficult to find enough players to make four bantam teams, a decision was made in 1966 to disband the four-team system and to create one elite team that was going to compete the following year at the inter-city level in the fledgling Metropolitan Bantam Football League (MBFL). They still needed to come up with a name for the team so it was decided that whichever of the four existing teams won what would be the last North Shore championship that year, their name would be used for the new inter-city team that was to begin competing the following year in 1967. As it happened, the Lions won that last championship and this was the creation of the team that we now know today.
In their inaugural season, under the guidance of their first head coach, Ron Hutchison, they began what was to become a winning streak of 42 straight games without a loss and their first of many provincial championship titles. In 1980, the MBFL fell into the jurisdiction of the Quebec Amateur Football Federation (QAFF) and changed to what we now know as the Quebec Bantam Football League (QBFL). The original MBFL championship trophy was retired and was presented by Bill Allan, then president of the MBFL and founding father of the North Shore Football League, to the Lions for having won the most championships during the time the MBFL existed.
The Quebec Bantam Football League (QBFL) is composed of amateur Canadian Football varsity teams playing in the Greater Montreal Region. The players are aged between 14 and 15 years old. Teams compete in late-summer and fall in an 8-game regular season leading up to a playoff tournament.

The North Shore Cheetahs are a football club and a member of the Quebec Bantam Football League (QBFL). They were founded in 2006 after a proposal was accepted at the QBFL's AGM. The proposed system has both the Cheetahs and the North Shore Lions holding a joint winter evaluation camp. Throughout the camp, the Lions take the more "polished" players and the Cheetahs take the rest. They are a developmental team and the next year, the players have the rights to try out for the Lions once again.
Minor hockey is an umbrella term for amateur ice hockey which is played below the junior age level. Players are classified by age, with each age group playing in its own league. The rules, especially as it relates to body contact, vary from class to class. In North America, the rules are governed by the national bodies, Hockey Canada and USA Hockey, while local hockey associations administer players and leagues for their region. Many provinces and states organize regional and provincial championship tournaments, and the highest age groups in Canada and USA also participate in national championships.

The Quebec Provincial Hockey Championship is a provincial championship in the men's and women's amateur ice hockey leagues in Quebec, Canada. This tournament is sanctioned by both Fédération québécoise de hockey sur glace and Hockey Canada.
Gordon Head Baseball Association, located in the municipality of Saanich, just north of Victoria, British Columbia, provides a comprehensive baseball program for players from four to 100 years old, in eight separate divisions, including Blastball, Initiation, Novice, Mosquito, Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget and Junior Men's. Known as Gordon Head Little League from 1957 through 2002, when it became affiliated with Baseball B.C., Gordon Head Baseball Association incorporated Lambrick Park Baseball in 2012. The organization is a member of the British Columbia Minor Baseball Association (BCMBA) and, under the jurisdiction of the Greater Victoria Baseball Association (GVBA), plays locally in Lambrick Park. The current president is Steve Gaskin, and the chief umpire is Barry Whelan.
Todd Michael Harkins is an American former professional ice hockey player who played 48 National Hockey League games for the Calgary Flames and Hartford Whalers. Harkins was drafted by the Flames in the 2nd round, 42nd overall in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in and consulted on hockey-related movies, and is now an amateur coach and professional scout.
Tim Ramholt is a Swiss former professional ice hockey defenceman who last played under contract for EHC Kloten of the Swiss National League (NL). He began his professional career with the ZSC Lions before moving to North America in the hopes of a National Hockey League (NHL) career. Ramholt was selected by the Calgary Flames in the second round, 39th overall, at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He played one NHL game for the Flames and after spending three years in the American Hockey League (AHL), returned to Switzerland for 2009–10. Internationally, Ramholt represented the Swiss junior team on four occasions. He won a silver medal at the 2001 IIHF World U18 Championships in Finland, then represented the U20 team three times between 2002 and 2004, with his best finish a fourth-place result in 2002.
The North Winnipeg Nomads Football Club is a Canadian football club established in 1969 and originally started as a single bantam age (15-year-olds) football team. Eventually, the club grew to include teams from ages 7 to 21. The Nomads has the second largest enrolment in Canadian amateur football.
The Cumberland Panthers are a Canadian football organization based in the Orleans area of Ottawa and the largest minor football organization in eastern Canada. The Cumberland Panthers were founded in 1993, starting out in the Mosquito level of the National Capital Amateur Football Association. Progressively, they have increased the number of teams being fielded as their players aged. In 1994, the organization added a team to compete in the Peewee level, followed by Tyke in 1996, and Bantam in 1997. The Panthers previously had three teams competing in the Ontario Provincial Football League in Varsity (Under-20) Junior Varsity (Under-17) and Bantam Varsity (Under-15) levels. In 2004, the Panthers fielded their first Junior Football team, in the Quebec Junior Football League, joining the Ottawa Sooners and Ottawa Junior Riders as the leagues entries from Ontario. The Cumberland Panthers organization also fields Girls' Touch Football teams, as well as Tyke and Mosquito Flag Football teams and a cheer squad. Various training programs are also offered, including Jr Panthers, for ages 5, 6 and 7 and the off-season Varsity training program for players age 15-19. The Panthers wear royal blue, silver, and white uniforms.
The BC Elite Hockey League, or BCEHL, is the highest level of provincial youth ice hockey league in British Columbia, Canada. Governed by BC Hockey and inaugurated in 2004 as BC Major Midget League.
Southern California Amateur Hockey Association is the governing body for competitive and developmental youth hockey on Southern California and is sanctioned by the California Amateur Hockey Association as part of USA Hockey.

Emerson Albert Spratlen Etem is an American former professional ice hockey right winger and current Color Analyst for the Anaheim Ducks radio broadcast. He is also a co-owner of the Long Beach Shredders of the USPHL. He was originally selected in the first round, 29th overall, by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He has also played for the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks. He retired in 2020 and became the head coach and general manager of the Missoula Jr. Bruins in the North American 3 Hockey League. In 2021, he purchased a junior team and became the head coach of the Long Beach Shredders in the United States Premier Hockey League.
Ryan Jarromie Noel Nugent-Hopkins is a Canadian professional ice hockey player and alternate captain for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Nicknamed "Nuge" by Oilers fans, Nugent-Hopkins was selected first overall by the Oilers in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Drew Shore is an American former professional ice hockey center who played in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was a second round selection, 44th overall, of the Florida Panthers at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and played parts of two seasons with Florida prior to being traded to Calgary. Internationally, Shore has represented the United States at both the junior and senior levels; He was a member of the American entry at the 2014 IIHF World Championship.
Joshua Morrissey is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate captain for the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Jets in the first round, 13th overall, of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
The Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament is an annual minor ice hockey event in Quebec City. The tournament was founded in 1960 to coincide with the Quebec Winter Carnival, and give an opportunity for international competition to players less than 12 years old. The tournament raises funds for the local Patro Roc-Amadour foundation, and is operated mostly by volunteers, with a few staff. The event takes place each year in February at Videotron Centre, and previously spent 56 seasons at Quebec Coliseum. As of 2018, the event has showcased the talent of over 1,200 future professionals in the National Hockey League or the World Hockey Association.
Carsen Twarynski is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who is currently under contract with the Bridgeport Islanders in the American Hockey League (AHL). He played in the Western Hockey League for the Kelowna Rockets and Calgary Hitmen before being drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
