The Queensland Centre for Photography (QCP) was an artist-run photographic institution that operated from 2004 until 2014. The Board, at a general meeting of the QCP held on 17 April, decided unanimously to close its Brisbane exhibition venue, following the withdrawal of core funding announced October 2013 by the Queensland state government. Previously at 33 Oxford Street, Bulimba, Queensland, Australia, it moved to a newly built venue on the corner of Cordelia and Russell Streets in South Brisbane, Queensland. [3] The Queensland Centre for Photography was regarded as one of the leading photographic institutions in Australia,[ citation needed ] its program included exhibitions, publications, international projects and the Queensland Festival of Photography. The annual exhibition program consisted of approximately 44 individual shows during 11 exhibition periods.

The Cremorne Theatre was a theatre in South Brisbane, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia that operated, with interruptions, from 1911 to 1954. Although nothing remains of it today, the general location retains its cultural significance from the first half of the twentieth century as a theatre precinct, thanks to the nearby construction of Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in 1985. Its name lives on in the new Cremorne Theatre, one of the venues within QPAC.

Ponch Hawkes is an Australian photographic artist, whose works have been featured in the Australian National Gallery and have hung in the National Gallery of Victoria and the State Library Victoria and written about in the Sydney Morning Herald. Hawkes is considered an influential part of the Australian Feminist art Movement, which was centred predominately in Melbourne during the mid 1970s. Hawkes' work is broad in its scope, including artists, feminists, sportspeople, public figures and candid street-photographs. She is especially noted for her 1976 photo essay Our Mums and Us, which featured her coterie of female friends and their mothers, among them the writer Helen Garner, in a typological style.
Jesse Marlow (1978) is an Australian street photographer, editorial and commercial photographer who lives and works in Melbourne.
Paul Russell is a British street photographer, based in Weymouth, Dorset. He was a member of the In-Public international street photography collective. Russell's work has been published in his own publications, the book Eastleigh By-election 2013 and the zine On Weymouth Beach; in a few survey publications on street photography; and is held in the collection of the Museum of London. He has had solo exhibitions in venues around the UK, and in group exhibitions in various locations worldwide.
