R.B. Umali is an American filmmaker, skate videographer, and photographer based out of New York City. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]
From the mid 1990s to the mid 2000s, Umali documented some of the finest New York City skateboarding while working for Zoo York, filming skaters such as Harold Hunter, Zered Bassett, and others. [1] Umali filmed NYC skateboarding during and after attending film school at NYU. [1]
In 2003, Umali premiered a documentary video R.B.'s Eastern Journey at the 2003 New York Underground Film Festival. [9] In 2004, Umali released Vicious Cycle. [10] In 2005, Umali released NY Revisited Vol 1 (96–97). [11] [12]
John Rodney Mullen is an American professional skateboarder who practices freestyle skateboarding and street skateboarding. He is considered one of the most influential skaters in the history of the sport. Mullen is credited for inventing numerous tricks, including the flatground ollie, kickflip, heelflip, impossible, and 360-flip. As a result, he has been called the "Godfather of modern freestyle skating."
Tompkins Square Park is a 10.5-acre (4.2 ha) public park in the Alphabet City portion of East Village, Manhattan, New York City. Brooklyn Banks is the unofficial name for the area under the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge. The banks are a New York City skate spot, popular among skateboarders and BMXers for the unique brick banked surfaces that give the spot its name, and other skateable features such as benches, pillars, ledges, stairs, and handrails.
Joe Simko is a New York City based illustrator who has contributed to Topps’ Garbage Pail Kids and Wacky Packages trading cards. He is the producer and co-director of the Garbage Pail Kids documentary film, 30 Years of Garbage. He is the illustrator/author of the book series, The Sweet Rot, and he designs artwork for bands, creating album covers, tour posters and concert shirts. His project Cereal Killers Trading Cards, 1st Series was released May 2, 2011. The Cereal Killers cards spoof breakfast cereals with popular horror films. Joe wrote and painted all 55 cards for the first and second set and launched the series through his company, Wax Eye. 2nd Series was released through Wax Eye in June 2012.

Steve Rodriguez is a goofy-footed American skateboarder, skate company owner, skatepark designer, community organizer, and creative services director, who lives and skates in NYC. Rodriguez is a leader in the effort to restore the iconic New York City skate spot: the Brooklyn Banks, a place where Rodriguez spent much time skateboarding. Until it closed for construction in 2010, Rodriguez hosted skate contests at the Banks.
