Rangasamy Velu (born 25 July 1940),is an Indian politician of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) party. He has been elected to 14th Lok Sabha as Union Minister of State,Railways from Arakkonam Lok Sabha constituency of Tamil Nadu [1] from 2004 to 2009. He started his political career as Officer of Indian Administrative Service and worked as Additional Registrar,Cooperative Societies;also served as member,Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. He also worked as District Collector;Director of Municipal Administration and Joint Commissioner,Revenue Administration. He has a PhD in disaster management,he also has a bachelor of Law degree and master of business administration degree. [2] He was educated in the Voorhees college Vellore,Madras Law College,Madras University and Madras Christian College and was a resident of Bishop Heber Hall. He has published his autobiography in Tamil named ‘en vazhkai payanam’. He is from Vanniyar community.
Shri Velu now is a retired IAS officer. He is still active in politics in the PMK.

Tholkappiyan Thirumavalavan,better known as Thol. Thirumavalavan is a political leader,scholar and activist from the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. A. Nesamony,sometimes known as Marshal Nesamony,was a political leader from Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu,India. He was the second son of Kesavan Appavu Nadar,born on 12 June 1895 at Nesarpuram,Palliyadi in Vilavancode Taluk,Kanyakumari district. He graduated from Maharaja's College in Thiruvananthapuram,and studied at law college in Thiruvananthapuram. He began practising in 1921. He was among those involved with the merger of four Taluks from Southern Travancore to Tamil Nadu.

S. Jagathrakshakan is an Indian Tamil businessman and politician. He did his matriculation at Valudavur. He is a member of Lok Sabha of India from Arakkonam constituency of Tamil Nadu and has been elected from this constituency thrice since 1999. He was the minister of state for commerce and industry from November 2012 to March 2013. He is also the chairman of Shree Balaji Medical College and Hospital. He is the owner of Dr. Rela Hospital and Institute. He has authored 30 books,one of which was released by Mother Teresa.

He came into the limelight when he issued a dissent note in the JPC report on the Bofors Scandal against a clean chit to Rajiv Gandhi government. He was murdered in 2004.
