R. Venkataraman (date of birth unknown, died 6 August 2020) was an Indian cricketer. [1] [2] He played in three first-class matches for Madhya Pradesh and in two matches for Vidarbha between 1954 and 1963. [3] [4]

Ramaswamy Venkataraman was an Indian lawyer, Indian independence activist and politician who served as a Union Minister and as the eighth president of India. Venkataraman was born in Rajamadam village in Tanjore district, Madras Presidency. He studied law and practised in the Madras High Court and the Supreme Court of India. In his young age, he was an activist of the Indian independence movement and participated in the Quit India Movement. He is currently the highest run-scorer in Ranji Trophy cricket, surpassing Amol Muzumdar. In November 2018, he became the first batsman to score 11,000 runs in the competition. In January 2019, he became the most capped player in Ranji Trophy history with appearance of his 146th match surpassing Madhya Pradesh's Devendra Bundela (145). He was appointed as batting coach for Bangladesh cricket team. In March 2020, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

Subramaniam Badrinath

Subramaniam Badrinath is a former Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed middle order batsman. Badrinath has represented India in One Day International and test matches. In first class cricket, he captains Vidarbha and was captain of Tamil Nadu earlier. In the Indian Premier League, he represented Chennai Super Kings till 2013 and Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2015. He has also represented the Indian Board President's XI on several occasions. He was named in the 30 man provisional squad for the 2007 Cricket World Cup but did not make it to the final squad. Badrinath was a prolific scorer for Tamil Nadu in first class cricket. In 2008, Badrinath has signed for the Indian Premier League side Chennai Super Kings. He was considered as one of the candidates in line for a spot in the middle order of the Indian test team and made his Test debut on 6 February 2010, scoring 56 in the first innings at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur. He was the leading wicket-taker for Vidarbha in the group-stage of the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, with 38 dismissals in eight matches. In the final of the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, Sarwate took eleven wickets in the match, and was named the Player of the Match.

Akshay Karnewar is an Indian cricketer who plays for Vidarbha. He made his List A debut on 10 December 2015 in the 2015–16 Vijay Hazare Trophy. 2018–19 Ranji Trophy Cricket tournament

The 2018–19 Ranji Trophy was the 85th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament that took place in India between November 2018 and February 2019. Vidarbha were the defending champions. The final took place between Vidarbha and Saurashtra, starting on 3 February 2019. Vidarbha defeated Saurashtra by 78 runs in the final, to become the sixth team in the tournament's history to retain their title.

2019–20 Ranji Trophy Cricket tournament

The 2019–20 Ranji Trophy was the 86th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. It took place between December 2019 and March 2020. Chandigarh competed in the Ranji Trophy for the first time. Vidarbha were the defending champions.

Amol Manohar Jichkar was an Indian cricketer. He played in six first-class and eight List A matches for Vidarbha from 1998/99 to 2001/02. He committed suicide by hanging himself. He was 38 years old.

2021–22 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy was the fourteenth edition of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, a Twenty20 competition that was played in India. It started on 4 November 2021, with the final taking place on 22 November 2021. The tournament formed part of the 2021–22 Indian domestic cricket season, which was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in July 2021. Tamil Nadu were the defending champions.

Aniruddha Chore is an Indian cricketer who plays as a wicket-keeper. After playing for Vidarbha from 2011/12 to 2014/15 in India, Chore went on to play play for Northern Knights for the 2022 season in Ireland.
