History

Yantra RC is a rugby club in Gabrovo, Bulgaria which is founded in 1973 by Dimitar Kontohov and developed by coach Georgi Petkov through the years. The team participates in all rugby groups including kids, juniors and men which are playing Rugby 15's , Rugby 7's and Beach Rugby.

The pitch: "Hristo Smirnenski" Stadium is located in Gabrovo, Bulgaria. The dimensions of the field are in regulation with the requirements and the games can be watched from around 200 seats. The building has 4 changing rooms with separated bathrooms and sauna as well.

Yantra RC museum is an attraction for the visitors which shows all the history in the past years and can be seen opened during home games.

Mikhail Petrov Petrov was a Bulgarian weightlifter who competed in the 1980s. He won three World and one European championships. He competed for the Yantra Gabrovo club from 1980 to 1990, with the exception of 1985-1986 when he was in CSKA. Blagoi Zilyamov was his personal trainer. Petrov is 7 times champion of Bulgaria - 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1990 for men and 1981, 1982 and 1983 for juniors. His strongest year was 1987 when he became World Champion in Ostrava, European Champion in Reims, he won the World Cup after winning the final tournament in Seoul. He also triumphs with the Danube Cup. For this he was elected by the International Weightlifting Federation for The Best weightlifter in the world for 1987.

The 2020–21 Bulgarian Cup was the 39th official edition of the Bulgarian annual football knockout tournament. The competition began on 29 September 2020 with the preliminary round and finished with the final on 19 May 2021. Lokomotiv Plovdiv were the defending cup winners, but were eliminated after extra time by Ludogorets Razgrad in the quarter-finals. After CSKA Sofia missed out on the cup after losing last year's final, this time they won it against Arda Kardzhali for their 21st cup title and qualified for the second qualifying round of the 2021–22 UEFA Europa Conference League.

Ledenik is a village in Central North Bulgaria, in the Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, Veliko Tarnovo Province - near the municipal city of Veliko Tarnovo. South of the village passes the river Yantra. The name of the village comes from the fact that it was famous for its ice houses in the past.
